    Operation Mighty Mite Miracle

Hollow bolts on the valve cover for vacuum for wipers and distributor cooling. One for the distributor was clogged up. Doc had to drill it back out. Probably overlooked by some Mite owners.

    Operation Mighty Mite Miracle

Doc disassembled the fuel pump and although it was clean, the diaphragm was all cracked and the springs in the valves were weak. Gonna need a new rebuild kit for this. :-(

New Purchase, Road trip from Tampa to Orlando

Congratulations on your soon-to-be new Deuce!!! :-):jumpin::mrgreen::driver: I agree with Infidel. 429 is your best bet to avoid the construction and chaos of Downtown. Maitland is manageable in a Deuce. Will you have someone following you while you're driving the Deuce home? I added...

    Operation Mighty Mite Miracle

More from Doc: I had to hot wrench that center stud on the bottom of the photo to get it out. Just too worn out. It only had 5 nuts holding it on. It would have been okay but since I was this close I figured I'd change it out. Time to get a new one. The gears look good. That extra...

Moving day is Nigh upon us!

I'm thankful you made it to SC safely. I don't know your total situation, so I'm making a few assumptions. You could fly back to WA, rent a Ryder/UHAUL box truck, rent a tow dolly, load the box truck up with your stuff, and haul it all to SC. Have your wife ride with you (provided someone can...

He disassembled, checked, and cleaned the inner workings of the distributor.

    Operation Mighty Mite Miracle

More from Doc: Knobs and cables as they are supposed to be. New choke cable in correct spot. Tight ignition switch.

    Operation Mighty Mite Miracle

More from Doc: I got all 4 cables in good shape. Didn't think that I could do it. no, I lied. I knew i could do it. Pictured is the shutter handle. It had no cable wire in the housing. I robbed a cable wire from a generic choke cable, peened and soldered. The Fording cable was just frozen. A...

    Operation Mighty Mite Miracle

Thanks, guys. I let Doc know that his master craftsmanship is appreciated by me and a few Steel Soldiers members. He's thankful that I'm documenting the progress. I REALLY wish I could be there to help out. I may just have to run away from home for a weekend sometime soon to help him out. I want...

    He probably used a Dremel.

    Operation Mighty Mite Miracle

From Doc: What to do about a broken distributor plate clip. I needed spring steel. Looks close to a hacksaw blade. Works perfect.

    Operation Mighty Mite Miracle

All I did was drop the Mite off at Doc's house. He deserves ALL of the credit. I'm well versed with computers. I felt it necessary to share the progress with the world because of how rare Mighty Mites are. One other thing - the spark plugs I ordered from Amazon are correct for a Mite. :-)...

    New from Florida

Welcome from Central FL! I organize events around the Orlando area. It's a bit far for you to drive, though. :-(

    Operation Mighty Mite Miracle

Doc worked on her all day yesterday. Someone hacked the battery box up badly. They torched off the front bracket so they could squeeze in oversized batteries. Doc removed the box and cleaned off the edge that was wrecked by the torch. He fabricated the angle aluminum bracket purchased from...

M939 Series 5 ton as Daily Driver?

College roommates can either make or break your experience and your education. I had really bad roommates when I lived on campus. It was nearly impossible to get a full night's sleep. One or more would be up until 2-3 AM making noise, consuming mass quantities of adult beverages, and eating MY...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

It looks like the CUCV's are multiplying in your yard, Evil Dr. Porkchop! I have a feeling that happens when you park two of them near each other and give them some 'alone time'..... CUCVRUS might have a similar problem. Them CUCV's are frisky little buggers!!! ;-) :naner::naner:

    Operation Mighty Mite Miracle

I am so thankful that Doc is taking care of her. He is a wealth of Mighty Mite knowledge. I just wish I had time to head up to his place and turn wrenches. I've never welded anything in my life and I'd love to learn from him.

    M1009 Transformation

Looks great! Did you order the Kevlar clutch from South Bend? I bought one for my 2004 Ram 3500 Dually. I LOVE IT!!!! It is so silky smooth. It took me a couple hundred miles to get the feel for it after my transmission rebuild and clutch installation. :-)
