Mine always gets the 5 minute warm up and 5 minute cool down...sometimes longer if I am taking stuff out of the back after a show.
Oh and even if it is not in the book, there is still (or should be ) a data plate in the cab warning you to do this.
I don't see how there would be an issue going from antique plates back to regular, other then it needing an inspection. The state needs money just show them the cost difference, and I bet they won't have an issue.

Biggest headache we had with our mule was the needle bearings. Oh, and getting rid of farmer Johns modifications. Only part of the mule I have not opened up was the motor.
