Welcome to the addiction...next a blazer or CUCV/M1009 as it is called. Then a genset then a m101 trailer for the deuce...then a MKT after all ya have to eat... Lots of heavy green here but not a lot in the wallet after...:p
Also a spin on filter is much easier to change as you can prefill them and thus eliminate all the steps involving bleed out when changing filters. You lose the ware warning capacity of the stock filter base, but it has been great for me filters are cheaper by far also. I keep a spare filter and...
Ok glad it's getting better but now try with a fuel can as that eliminates (the fuel tank and any screens in between as well as all hosing or piping that may be swelled/cracked/flattened. RUN off the fuel can and that will tell you if your problem is fuel system before the IP or after...
Hoping to camp out in the m109 and bring the 1009 for wheeling! Hey don't be a stranger when you are on the east coast give us a yell... We will definitely do lots of pictures! Are you shipping everything out west? Man! It might be easier to sell it off here and buy new out there LOL. Hey...
Maybe! My m1009 ran great! no vibration (especially after getting the wheels balanced) then one day (on a recovery) I had heard a slight vibration. I figured the tires were flat spotted and it would go away. I was wrong...I had a ear on the driveshaft that was cracked and it finally gave up at...
Sounds like fuel filter...Yes I know you changed it. Try this...connect a new can of diesel to the intake on the fuel pumpvia a new piece of hose...(after the filter) and see if you get power now!
Bring batteries! and 5 gal of fuel and a friend. I would get them both off base and then come back for one, unless you know someone with a big trailer.
Glad to hear everything turned out ok! Hey moderators, any way to sticky breakdowns so that they are on top of the first page untill resolved? Maybe Pm those that are close (within 100 miles or so? I was too far away to help here, but I might have missed the thread as sometimes I am away from...
It would be smart for a company (or individual) to do small runs on T-shirts/hats with design and logo art for different events(like rallys as we have here) where you might have 50 people who want shirts. Of course they would have to be different but hey there are some creative people out there...
Before trying to start it make sure that all of the oil drains (sampling drain too) are shut! Don't ask how I know...or how much **** I had to go through with GL..... Many of the yards DO NOT WANT YOU TO WORK ON YOUR TRUCK AT ALL.
Uh, you said it wouldn't start......Dumb question but does it turn over? Could be the glow plugs as once one goes they can all cascade due to over voltage. BTW expect a little ribbing when you post with an electrical question and you are an electrician...we all know that no one knows...
+2 for WVO, my CUCV runs cleaner and quieter on an 80/20 blend of centrfuged WVO and Diesel. I have a benz that has run for many years on it. Develop and excellent proceedure and do it the same way every time, check your results and improve until you get what you want;-)
