    M1101 painted and added bedlining

Very cool but... All that keeps that thing from rotating on the ring is friction and the little set-screw? I recognize that they probably know more about the engineering aspect than I do, but I wish they would address it somewhere if for nothing more than the customers' comfort. EDIT to add...

    Front Parking lights wont light.

I just finally figured out my left turn signal problem- and it was not the stick. I had several people tell me my left brake light was out. Pull the bulb- it looks & tests good. Then I notice the filament that's burning when the lights are on is not the right one. Pressing the brake pedal...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Put a toolbox on craigslist and some guy emails me saying he'll take it, but would I be willing to deliver? No, but I'll meet you at such-&-such place about halfway between our two locations. He agrees. So I use the friendly floorjack to lift the box up as high as possible, then climb onto...

Were you able to save the surge brake?

That's a design feature. When the tire senses high speeds it sheds the heavy tread and turns itself into a racing slick.

Here's a fair analogy of this discussion so far: Dude1: "I just bought a classic 72 Chevy" Dude2: "Man those suck, you screwed up big time" Dude1: "Really? A 1972 Corvette sucks?" Dude2: "Oh yeah, here's some videos that show how bad they suck" Dude1: "Those videos show a Chevy Chevette, and I...

Discussing oil and filters are like discussing politics or religion. I asked anyone to cite any authoritative source that the filters I bought were less than ideal and I see several posts talking smack, but no answer to the actual question. Now we've devolved to veiled personal insults...

Thanks for the videos that prove my point. 99% efficiency, 10K mile life, and silicone anti-drainback valve. Still don't see what the problem is.

I don't use Fram oil filters (Mopar for the Jeeps and Purolator for the M1009) but for $2.60 I'll chance it. These are also the 'tough guard' filters and the can is silver, not orange.

I got my Rock Auto order. Love those Wholesaler Closeout emails.

desperately need help with m1009 wiring

Your troubleshooting should have started with disconnecting the batteries at the first sign of smoke; I'm perplexed you would continue to screw with it after that. Whatever problem(s) you had at the beginning are now going to be significantly complicated by burned out fuses, fusible links, and...

Shocked by CUCV battery hold down bracket

If there is voltage between two common GROUND points, the batteries would be dead in a minute or less. ;)

Shocked by CUCV battery hold down bracket

Put your multimeter in ohms and connect the black lead to something metal, then touch the negative terminal on the front battery with the red lead. The meter should indicate zero-ish ohms. If it's an analog meter the needle will swing swiftly to the other side and hold on or very near zero...

    Yes. Wife wanted one.

What did you do to your trailer today.

Of course it could just be as simple as a different contract (say, for some other county) specifies the data plate goes there instead.

I count about eight questions you were asked that are unanswered. We're trying to help.

    M1009 wont start

This is where I was after hearing the symptoms. Are you getting the WAIT light? Try this first: Turn the key and watch the WAIT light, when it goes out wait about 20 seconds, then turn the key off. Repeat this cycle three or four times and then try to start it. If it starts (or sounds...

I'm totally guessing, but either some type of fiberglass or plastic. Working from memory I recall seeing a spun pattern on the unpainted inside of the tube like I would expect from fiberglass, but then I also remember curls of plastic where the sheet-metal screws attache the lid to the tube...
