What did you do to your trailer today.

A little over 5600 hours in Starlifters.

What did you do to your trailer today.

I took the wheels off so I can get the tires put on the wheels, so it'll sit in my driveway for a couple days on its landing gear. The license plate was zip-tied to the tarp tie-down and that wasn't going to do, so I moved it underneath near a possible power source, in case the cops want a...

    TruckLite Flood Lights

The brackets are just two hardware store L brackets with the grille sandwiched between. That last picture belongs to the guy I borrowed the idea from. This is mine- not as pretty but effective. The relay/solenoid too.

    TruckLite Flood Lights

I'm using deuce buckets and 25v 450 watt aircraft landing lights, so 900 watts altogether. I had to pick up a solenoid because the relays I had couldn't handle the load. I don't know the candlepower, but it's probably more than anything you'll get from KC.

The hole you plugged in the filter body isn't the only place air can leak in.

M1101 Troubleshooting Bearings\Brakes - Terrible MPG Towing! What should I inspect?

You might get better mileage if you put the roof top tent on the roof. ;-) All of the places we go to camp would not work with a trailer, unless you are adept at backing a trailer several miles down a twisting road only about two feet wider than the truck.

M1101 Troubleshooting Bearings\Brakes - Terrible MPG Towing! What should I inspect?

I usually feel the hubs after driving any appreciable distance to see if they're hot; never have been any more than lukewarm. A fast way would be to run the tongue jack all the way down, install the rear legs as long as you can get them, then run the tongue jack up until the wheels are off the...

No Headlights, directionals, horn, CUCV 1986

What a coincidence, all those things run through the service light toggle switch on the dash. Is that switch in the UP position? If it's fully UP then there may be some problem in the circuit to the switch, like the fuses or wiring or the switch itself. Wiggle it. The switch I mean; wiggle...

Deets on the jack please. I think you said ebay but do you have the NSN or part number?

Somehow my left turn signal has suddenly started working again. Glad I didn't bother to fix it. :)

    Truck keeps losing it's prime

It tells you that you have a leak, likely in the filter somewhere. Air was leaking in, but parked downhill sort of seals the air leak in with a fuel leak out, if that makes sense. Plug the sensor or

    Broken Power Steering Bracket

It's common enough to have happened to me. I took the parts to a friend who is a good welder and he beefed it up. I was skeptical that it would even fit but it's under the hood and working great.

Do you have ramps or any other way of parking it nose down? That's a free and no-effort troubleshooting tip.

What did you do to your trailer today.

Looking at the numbered drawing it appears you take part #12 off the frame rail and set it on top of the jack such that the concave nub cradles the shock-absorber eye. Of course you can also jack up one side of the trailer by running the tongue jack down, installing a landing leg on that side...

What did you do to your trailer today.

The manual mentions something about a jacking point but I don't understand how or what.

    Truck keeps losing it's prime

Fuel isn't leaking out; air is leaking in. Try parking nose-down and see if the problem corrects. Either way, get a spin-on fuel filter and the problem should go away.

M1101/02 trailers: I need to change the wheels and need the exact size

Spent a couple hours taking the big 37s off the trailer and test fitting my aluminum mag wheels. They fit perfectly! The tire is centered underneath with no tire sticking out. The stock lugnuts fit, sorta. The socket gets down into the holes (on all but one of the lugs) but the socket OD...
