Starter turns when key out of ignition

Can you explain this in detail, using proper punctuation so it makes sense? You connected 12v red from your jeep to....?

Anti-seize compound on all the threads will make it easier the next time around.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

All of a sudden my left turn signal doesn't work. Works with the four-ways, but not with the stalk. I'll be puzzling that one now. Nothing like an old truck.

Vacuum pump or vacuum line leaking been suggested already?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Getting the truck started from cold was getting problematic; two or three cycles for the GPs, then crank and barely not catch, another GP cycle and then it would begrudgingly start. Pulled out the ebay Bosch GPs and replaced them with AC Delco 60s instead. I tested the old ones after removing...

    Valve next to radiator

By line I mean the system of lines, valves, adapter, and cap that comprises the assembly. To believe the engine "built up" enough pressure to blow open a steel line would be uh... shall we say, silly. It didn't happen to me; I merely reported what I was told by a (former) M1009 owner.

    Valve next to radiator

I bought a couple antenna brackets from a local guy that was parting out his burned up M1009. He said his oil sampling line suddenly burst and sprayed oil onto the exhaust manifold, creating a fire that destroyed his vehicle. He advised me to remove mine, which I didn't do for a couple years...

    Valence's 1968 M101A1

The quick link goes on your tow vehicle, not the trailer chains. The trailer chain hook engages the quick link hanging off your bumper.

    Glow Plug Help

I'm pretty sure mine are failing. They are only about three or four years old, but they're Bosch brand I got on ebay and I don't think they were all working when I put them in. My symptoms sound like yours; I cycle the glow plugs two or three times, foot half way in, crank, doesn't catch. But...

    Valence's 1968 M101A1

I never screw anything together anymore unless the threads are coated with antiseize compound first. It makes life a lot easier later on.

I picked up a couple of these at home depot. Easier.

    M1009 Trailer Connector Wiring Diagram

Here's my converter box that I made to tow my M1101 with my WK Grand Cherokee (Hemi) and still be able to move the trailer with the M1009. I should have used a larger box because my plan was to put a cigar lighter plug in it to run a light or whatever. The coil cord was from e-Trailer, the mil...

Another way to lower an M1101/M1102

I think they're rated for a payload of 2740# max.

Another way to lower an M1101/M1102

The M11101 and M1102 trailers are identical. The only difference is the data plate. Both trailers have the same weight capacity; the numbers on the data plate are for the soldier to determine whether his vehicle is allowed to tow it.

Another way to lower an M1101/M1102

Sorry for another question: So right now the axle is only attached at the sides, and not on top (up through the frame rail)?

Another way to lower an M1101/M1102

Thanks! I'll be interested to hear how it behaves with a heavy load.

Another way to lower an M1101/M1102

Uh, you glossed over this part a little... Mounted how? Glue? Bolts? Rivets? I haven't been under mine in a while but if the frame is a big rectangular tube, how did you get a nut or bolt inside it? With the trailer level, what is the tongue height off the ground? Thanks for the...
