I wouldn't mount anything there; there's a reason that panel is smooth the way it is. It can change a minor accident from a walk-away-with-some-scratches thing to permanent disability. Just my two cents...

I think I remember reading somewhere that I can swap in new brake drums (just the drums, no other changes) to make the axles 6-lug? It would be more convenient if it had the same pattern as my M1009 and 6-lug are more plentiful.

Does anyone know what the BORE size needs to be? I see ads on craigslist for Silverdao wheels but the bore looks much smaller than even my 6-lug M1009 wheels.

Try to post some clear pictures from above and the sides. The bracket may be on wrong. When I put mine back on it didn't line up, then I realized I had the adjuster on the wrong side of its mating bracket.

Take them out of the truck and put them in the freezer overnight. In the morning quickly install them in the truck and see if it cranks. That won't factor in the cold engine oil but it might give you a guess.

It looks like a great way to adapt a lunette ring to a civie trailer hitch. Lop off that ring on the extension and machine it to allow you to bolt or weld on a ball coupler. Would let you keep the ring on your mil trailer and swap back and forth between your mil or civ vehicle for towing.

I put the studded snow tires on my M1009 today. The BFGs on the aluminum wheels have a larger bore hole so the disk that holds the spare tire to the mount in the bed is too small. I'll have to rig something up.
