What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

So I can't find anything that says I need to fill out and submit an EUC for the trailer. The auction description says it has a demil code of A and elsewhere: So that seems to say that I do not need the EUC, however I did have to do and redo the EUC several times the last time I won a trailer...

    No power problems

There is a fusible link that runs to the little 12v bus on the firewall behind the glow plug relay. Do you have voltage at that bus bar?

I won another M1101 trailer this afternoon; for $140 less than my last one (that I had to sell). http://www.govplanet.com/jsp/s/item/790486 Not looking forward to all the drama of getting it registered but at least now I have room to keep it and the M1009 for pulling it home. This is the old...

Installing Rear Seat in my M1009

lol no jumping but I did have the seat propped up for a while during the move. We just bought a house a mile away from where we were living so it was easy enough to make a lot of little trips with the '09.

The eye end snapped off at some point. I have no idea how.

I just noticed my prop-rod is broken. If anyone has a spare let me know.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

My commute to work is seven minutes, there's no way I'll ever move back to that side of the Sound and the traffic nightmare. :x So today I got some sun again and finished the steering pump. Reconnected the batteries and added more fluid to the pump. Drove it around but the pump was whining...

Should I be nervous about the brakes? The steering i can deal with, but the brake pedal felt spongy. With it foaming like it is, how do I know if there's enough fluid in there, or too much?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

The sun was out all morning while we ran errands but it was clouding up by the time I got home and got my coveralls on. Tightening the power steering pump belt was a puzzler, and the -20 was useless. "Rotate power steering pump (5) by placing a pry bar between engine and bracket (4), and...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Here's another shot. I think the one in my CUCV has three lines running to it as well.

Picked up this civilian steering pump for $25. Not sure how it mounts up or if the lines are usable but I only bought it for the spare bracket.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Got home from work and ran a tap down the power steering pump pulley shaft to clean up the threads. Once that was done I found a suitable bolt and some heavy washers and tried to reseat the pulley, but it wouldn't have any of it. It went almost all the way on, but stopped dead about 1/8th" shy...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. I tried every bolt in my collection and nothing would thread in there- so I think the threads got screwed (!) up when I used the puller to get the pulley off. I imagine the threads are the same as on the bolts that hold the pump to the bracket, so I guess I...

Here's the power steering pump bracket all welded up. I got the bracket back on the pump but am waiting for some help with getting the pulley back on. Thoughts?

So the power steering bracket is all welded up nice. How do I get the pulley back on? The -20 mentions a special tool; is this tool available anywhere like Napa?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I got this photo of a power steering pump and bracket from a guy that wants to sell some parts. Can anyone tell if this is the diesel one? It looks like it to me but my bracket is at the welder's still.

It's at the welder's and I'll post up pictures when it's finished.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Pulling the pulley off while the pump was still in there was a giant fail. I disconnected two of the three lines and managed to get the pump up on top of the radiator overflow bottle. That didn't make it much easier and the puller was junk. Using a big pair of pliers to hold the jaws of the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Yup. That's what mine looks like. :-( So a couple of questions for the folks that have been down this path: 1. Can the bracket be welded? 2. Are these available in the junkyard on other chevys? 3. Is there any expectation I can order a new one? 4. Can I get the bracket off the pump without...
