Wow that was fast. If other people need some spacer sets I could cut a few more sets without too much problem. That is as long as you agree not to try and tow a deuce with these, or otherwise prove Darwin right
From the info above it looks like it would be easy to make a set going the...
Well here is the end result. Thanks for the suggestion of checking out a farm store. I hit Agra this afternoon. I had forgotten how good of a store they are. I will be blowing much more money there soon. These spacers were 2" long, so all I had to do was shorten them down to 1-1/2" on the...
Can you identify the adapter ends on this towbar in the second pic. I am thinking that they are the 3/4" Humvee versions. I need to make sure that this can tow a M1009 which is the 1" pin, so if it is the 3/4" version are there any other deminsions that are changed to prevent me form just...
I saw that this work body CUCV truck went for 6K. It does have the generator, and air compressor included, but I can not imaging that those alone could add 3K-4K to the price. There was one of these work body truck in Va. in the late spring that only went for the normal M1008 prices. It did...
The floor board actually looks really good. There is some light to medium rust getting started, but no holes in the floor. This truck has the usual rust on the rocker right below the drivers door. The replacement panel is cheap though.
I am actually thinking the tow bar clunk is my fault...
Sorry GL planned for that just in case they forgot to add that to a listing.
"HELPFUL TIP #1
Remember, unless specifically stated in the lot description, a SF97 will not be provided for any conveyances sold by Government Liquidation.
When a SF97 is provided, if there is an error, we may be...
JCease and I just returned Wednesday from a little adventure picking up my new M1009, and looking at one for him among the upcoming CUCVs. Our plan was to flat tow the truck home. Pickup was super easy. There was no real security, and Glen the GL employee was real laid back. I grilled him on...
I want to pick up a new set of batteries before I head up to pick up my M1009 this week, and was wondering what you guys would suggest. I am not stuck on getting the orginal 6TL batteries. What battery sizes work best, and what would be the minimum amps for each battery? I was looking at the...
RE: CUCV
I remember reading about problems with the injector pump, but I think it was on one of the biodiesel sites. I have also heard that this engine works fine with it, but again no specifics. I am looking to go this path too, so I am very interested about others experience.
I am flat towing a M1009 home this week about 200miles. I am wondering what is the best gear to put the transmission and transfer case in. I am dropping the rear driveshaft no question along with unlocking the front hubs. The TM says to drop the front driveshaft if towing over 50 miles. I...
I live near to the Richmond, Va. location. I was told that they would still be selling vehicles, but that the vehicles would be sold from their current location. For example x-reserve unit will dispose of their vehicles thru GL at the x-reserve location's facility. Which of course means twice...
I was wondering if anyone is near the Jacksonville, Fl. base that might be able to pickup an unexpected GL win. It should be shippable UPS with no real packing needed.
Thanks
I have been trying to find a decent break down of the good and bad qualities of the deuce by the different versions that were made. Which years are better, turbo or not, better engines, transmission, etc. I am sure my question has been answered before, but I have not found the magic search...
Yeah I was suggesting the installation of a class 3 hitch that attaches directly to the frame to tow with. The pintle has its own ratings that are much lower.
The Reese website lists the hitch for the civi blazer:
Weight Carrying capacity
500lbs tougue weight
5000lbs gross trailer weight...
