    Support SS.com

Thanks for the information. I guess this is not a subject I would expect to have to search past discussions on. How about adding a statment to the donation link to contact you guys for alternate donation options. I'll be mailing my donation after payday.

    Support SS.com

I agree with NEIOWA on this I don't use Paypal due to their policies. I figured I would eventually run into one of the guys here to make a personal donation, but if I could mail it that would be great. A P.O. Box would work if you want a bit of anonymity is needed.

    M1008 buying tips?

Well GL does have alot of junk on it, and recently there are titling problems with thier vehicles.(do a search) Just like you are doing here you need to inspect the item in person. Their pictures suck, and often just miss the problem areas. It however is a good place to shop if you are in no...

    M1008 buying tips?

I don't know if I am off my rocker here, but for $5800 that truck better be near perfect. On GL they seam to go for $2-3K most of the time. On ebay I have seen both above and below that.

Anyone need a medium tow bar??

RE: Very interested Just thought I would chime in to say that this tow bar is really nice. I almost bought it a couple weeks ago, but I did not trust my welding enough to make up a new leg.

WARNING - SPLIT RIMS AND JACK STANDS!!!

I am no expert on this, so others should chime in. I believe that your only worry is when inflating the first time after a tire change. During that inflation everything should have seated itself properly, or exploded. Until the next tire change you should be fine, I think..... And don't...

    Towing a M1009 behind another M1009

RE: Re: RE: Towing a M1009 behind another M1009 I guess the Gov. underestimated it a bit.

WARNING - SPLIT RIMS AND JACK STANDS!!!

One of my long time friends has a plate in his head from a rim comming apart when inflating. I think he was stationed in Germany when it happened. When he woke he was back in the States. Luckly he made it ok, and even has some disability pay to boot. Oh and he has some memory problems too...

    Deuce buyers guide

Great idea. This link helped me alot as I have never found a year by year break down of what was made. I am sure there are lots of engine upgrades and such from the gov, but at least it gives an idea what to look out for. http://www.olive-drab.com/od_mvg_deuce_chart.php3

    DISCUSSION - Slobbering Multifuel Cure?

With replacing the mechanical fan with a fan that is not on all the time how do the other parts that rely on that air flow hold up. The air compressor would be one obvious one, but I am sure others drop alot of heat to that air flow. I guess this could be more of a problem at low speed.

    Truck delivery in Va./Md./WV./Pa. areas.

I have been considering purchasing a deuce for a while, and I wanted to get my ducks in a row incase I need to have it delivered via truck. Has anyone used any truckers in general Va./Md./Wv./Pa. area that they would suggest? Or does anyone out there consider the idea of towing someone elses...

    Obtaining Service Records

I was wondering if anyone has managed to obtain a copy of their vehicles service records? I picked up my M1009 from Chambersburg, Pa., so is there a service depot around there that might have serviced my vehicle last to start at? Sometimes I have seen the records in some vehicles, but only...

    Need Help, Buying a CUCV

Well yeah since it is catagorized as a 3/4ton truck it is exempt from EPA stuff, but that sticker is great. Especially with the emissions being extended further up the duty classifications now. It would make it a lot faster if smog checks come my way, and an easy laugh when a friend pissed...

    Need Help, Buying a CUCV

On my M1009 at least it is located on that kind of flat painted black plate that the hood latch goes thru. That one little sticker is one of the barriers to blasting and repainting, and as you can see that panel needs it. Any ideas on how to remove the decal without damaging it, or getting a...

    Need Help, Buying a CUCV

Another gearing fix using a 205 would be to find a divorced 205. Install a 3053A overdrive deuce transmission infront of it. Then from what I have heard you can use a light industrial trucks bellhouseing to hook the 3053A to the engine. I am curious how he gets his interior to look so nice...
