That shot belongs in a calender! Just plain beautiful! I never thought much about the Mighty Mite until this summer. I crawled under one and those little buggers are a engineering masterpiece. What a cool frame and four wheel drive system. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to all!!
Hmmmm. I am gonna have to go with redneck on this one.. :D Tough call but the hooded sweatshirt and Carharts puts you in the redneck catagory. Nice little rig, is it a 4x4?
DDoyle can give us the facts on this more than me, but I have a M35 gasser here. All of the early trucks were gassers and then switched over to the multi fuel with overdrive trans. I am not sure of the years they did this or how the exact history goes.
The gasser deuce engine is not even close...
Oh and I forgot.. You should flip the pintle hitch if its not to rusty it will ride better and have less toung weight. You will need a 1 1/2 inch wrench, pliers, small sledge hammer, liquid wrench, and maybe some heat like a little torch. Also make sure the parking brakes are not frozen up and...
You can also get the bolt on type and undo the military lights and bolt them on. Then just zip tie the wiring up to the front use a self tapper for a ground plug them in and go.. I just want to ad one thing. With your hitch being so low you will need two people to let it down on the hitch or a...
So is that still a gasser? No top stack? I agree with Maddawg 2k.. If you could get it for $1500 it would be a steel.. She is in need of some good care.
RE: Re: RE: DT 466 International motor ?
I kicked around the more modern Cummins engines too. Truth is I want as less of the electronics on it as possible.. Dont like all the computer controled stuff.. It make some good horsies but one module, one wire, one sensor and your screwed... I prefer...
RE: Re: RE: DT 466 International motor ?
Well Andy I am not a diesel mechanic nor have I owned many diesel engines so I am learning just like you. After consulting with different exsperianced people it just seems to be a piss pour design. Of the four I have two have bad bearings in the lower...
RE: Re: RE: DT 466 International motor ?
Thats a good idea joeC.. Has anybody done this swap already? Maybe have pictures or can give a report on any problems they encountered? I am just collecting data on this after stumbling accross one and would not start this project until spring/summer. I...
Hi Sermis. Where are you in relation to Marble Falls TX ? I know that state is HUGE! Just curiouse because you have some nice stuff .. Are those tires 1600's or 1400's?
Ahhh this is good news Obiwon Jatonka.. I was aware of the higher horspower units but might be able to get my hands on one for a good price.. Whats the bellhousing issues to a deuce overdrive trans? Or maybe another trans option that could be packed into the deuce? Dont think I want to go auto...
Ok you diesel pro's ! Whats the skinny on this engine? Think I could make one fit in a deuce? So far I have been told its a bullet proof engine, easy to find parts, hi RPM to match a deuce, and 150 HP stock. This would be a older version with a rotary injection pump. So do you think the oil pan...
PM me and I will give you the information. I am not sure if they have been to Cali yet or not.. But if they have not and the T case is in S Cali they would probably get it if they have room.
With the utmoast certainty I can state that Cranetruck "Bjorn" has probably forgotten more than I will ever know about this stuff.. You the man Bjorn!! :driver:
Hey Opie mine seems to have a blown head gasket too! spilled some antifreeze on it and it is making bubbles out the front of the front head. Sooooo maybe we can get two of everything and have brother Joe do it to it!! Darn multis just arent a long lasting engine.. Wonder why the Army used them...
There was a guy in MV mag in the back adverstizing under misc. he had NOS fender mount hot water kits for $450 plus I think John Bizal at Midwest Military still has a couple, but dont know his price..
