    Tested both again. Old MPU has zero ohms. New MPU has 180 ohms. My guess is that I have to find this specific MPU to produce the correct AC voltage? Manual calls for a MPU model number MSP675C ... there are MSP675s all over the web, but not MSP675Cs (msp675 has a much smaller diameter) ...

    Roger all; I did notice it had been set too close, and I did reset it according to specs (tighten securing nut at 1.5 turns out from bottom with flywheel), but I somehow missed the part about backing it out again by 1/4 to 1/2 turn and trying again.
