Anyone had their GL MV auction "contested" by the government?

They do this with discharge orders too. Ain't our govt great? "Here's your DD214.... Just kidding! Report at 0500 on ...... or you'll be AWOL"

    M925 deck construction?

I've wondered about an arch being able to lift logs up from the ground to over the bed without articulation outside pivoting the bow fore/aft like they do for some of the conex container movers and LP tank trucks. Unfortunately, I can't find any pics of that design. I don't have a forktruck or...

How High of a Garage door?

I figure I'll have cold and heated work space in the new shop too. Having lean-to's adds insulation value to the core of the building as well. Storage and shop space will be allocated differently when I move to the new place. I'm currently playing by suburban rules and made the choice to stay...

    M925 deck construction?

If I put it behind the cab, then I'd have a long reach to get behind the truck. If I mount it to the rear, I can reach further back with a much shorter jib. http://cranes.e-rackonline.com/truck-mounted-jib-cranes/#gsc.tab=0

How High of a Garage door?

I remember when they poured the slab for my shop. 24x35 looked so huge then... Got the walls up, and thought: man, this is so big! 7 years later - I can't walk all the way around my fab bench without moving it. When the new shop is built, it'll be made for big stuff to fit inside.

    M925 deck construction?

I'm thinking a corner mount on one of the rears, but it'll be reinforced into either the bed itself and/or tied to the frame as well. The problem with tying into the frame is that any additional stiffness defeats the flex designed into the truck. If you change how the truck moves, you end up...

    M925 deck construction?

What gauge is the crossmember and how tall is the rib?

    M925 deck construction?

What's the bed made out of, and how's it supported? Does anyone have pics of the underside? I'd like to use mine (when I buy one) for hauling bagged firewood for delivery via a jib crane on the back and I'm wondering how much support there is to handle adding one, or if I'll need to plan on...

When Does a Truck get Overhauled?

How are m939's stored for long periods? Do they drain them, fog them and park it, or what? Also, are vehicles in storage ever taken out for a spin to circulate lube?

We've had 40 days below zero this winter, and the average temps should've already gotten back into the 30's on a regular basis - we've had 2 days since November that were that warm. This is the coldest winter I can remember. Most snow we've had in 15 years. I'm looking forward to seeing dirt...

Anyone been to Ripley without a GL escort?

He was headed to Rapid City yesterday. These trucks are going over my limit already. Looks like I'm gonna have to wait after all.

    M923A2 height

My shop has 11' ceiling while my garage only has 10. Because the shop sits behind the house and the house is up a hill from the street - no one ever even notices the shop is back there. The roof lines are off a foot, and the ceilings obviously don't match. Both have the same pitch roofs and...

Anyone been to Ripley without a GL escort?

That's kind of what has me tempted to take a chance. Not having videos is a deal killer though. Like was said - maybe they'll put them up now that it's game day.

I was in the last all-male BCT company at Knox. 9 out of 13 cadre were Rangers, as were the CO and XO. We got worked over hard. Didn't help that it was February when we started the cycle and cold, raining, or both all the time. Beautiful country down there though. I was just a little...

My first recovery effort !! Monday 2/10/14... m923a2 battery question !!

How much volume will the on-board compressor produce? Solenoid valve with microswitch trigger and a simple electric motor to spin it. It'd work like the real thing... I'm just not sure how to get candy up an ammo belt housing (I'm not sure what those are called). Might be able to blow it up...
