Actually, it is MUCH worse today. It sank a little overnight plus I tried to get it out some more. One more inch and I won't be able to open the driver's side door....
:driver:Well, had a load of fence posts and wire. Made it past the mud hole the first time, but got bogged down on the way back. Then the front tires got wedged between some roots so it just dug straight down.
It is actually a spring that was uncovered while clearing the fence line. I had...
Got the new tires on today. BF Goodrich AT - stock size. I did not notice the throttle steer issues at all on the way home, which leads me to believe the tire pressure may have been the culprit. I will update this thread if the issue comes back. Thanks for the help!:jumpin:
You know...they rotated the tires because the fronts were too worn on the edges to align the front end. The rear tires were fine as far as uneven wear. Now my rear tires have a much lower PSI because they rotated them. I had the front at 45 and the rear at 65. Now it is reversed. I'm...
I also found out there were issues with my steering gear. The mechanic feels this contributed about 20% to the death wobble. In fact, I still think there is a problem. If you are going between 30 and 50 and let go of the gas and step on it again it jerks the wheels to the right. I'm taking...
Mine ended up being a bad steering stabilizer and being severely out of alignment. It had extreme toe-in. Warped and warn rotors contributed when braking. I won't get the truck back until tomorrow. I can post pics then.
Search for 'death wobble'. My tires are the same and when I brake or hit a pot hole I get the death wobbles. It is NOT worn rotors on my truck. I am taking it to the shop tomorrow.
My second trip more than 3 miles from home resulted in a horrific death wobble. I was going 50 and had a load of fence posts in the back and my daughter was trying to hand me some combos. I saw a pothole ahead that I couldn't avoid. I told my daughter to hold on and then I hit it. The front...
:ditto: I also learned the hard way that my fuel gauge is off. I had the wonderful opportunity of learning how to bleed the fuel system. Not a big deal, but I had to go into town to get a pump to help with bleeding.
Front end alignment and new tires are next.
Really to answer this question I would encourage you just to read the posts on the forum about the CUCV. Look at the the good and bad about these vehicles in each post. My uses were different than yours, but I needed to decide between a CUCV and another truck and that is what I did. I got my...
I ran into the same thing yesterday. I got a lot more fluid out by making the lower radiator hose as straight as I could so it would drain the block. A lot more came out, but still not the full capacity.
I made my wife watch Firebirds with Nicholas Cage tonight. rofl There were several CUCVs. Tommy Lee Jones gets out of an m1009 and as he arrives on base there is an m1008 pulling a trailer. Several scenes have CUCVs in the background.
As for the movie itself, well lets just say it was a...
It inspired me to do the same. I was actually filling out my shopping cart online for the conversion and stopped. I just got the stock replacement filter.
