dito but id look into an air actuated cylinder to operate it from the cab and use the handle as a backup. this way you can disengage and drive forward while you free spool, stop, lock it back in, and drag your load forward if you like without anyone near the tire or reaching under the bed.
it has crossed my mind to do the same, id have to go with the 20k if i did it but the cost of the PTO is inhibiting and kind of a pain, preferably id love it converted to hydo but that cost is also very inhibiting.
the 20k because i can virtually hide it under if i raise the bed off the frame...
the bed mount is something ive contemplated for my up coming bob i decided to mimic the stock bed mounts, solid rear and spring front. i feel like removing the bogie will also likely remove alot of rigidity in the rear of the truck and im afraid if i mount the bed solid i will end up damaging...
im currently at work but does the TM include a detailed schematic? i have a friend who is an electrical engineer, maybe i can have him test the regulator but i have nothing coming out so i assumed the is screwed up.
i was having a problem at start up with the gen squealing and putting out too...
i have seen many try but it always seems cost prohibitive. red dot kits are available and i have seen one installed in a deuce (pics only) but there is quite a few obstetricals to over come. insulating the cab to yeild any effectiveness is in itself a huge problem, beyond that mounting the pump...
there is a place near my work, Dell Electric, im going to drop it off Monday and see what they have to say but ive been told these things can go around 200+
so my gen smoked out on me a few days ago, i dont have the finances to do anything about it for a few weeks but when i do i have a few options. already tried to adjust it...
used/new old stock gen (used could die a mile after i get it on)
have mine rebuilt (might be cost prohibitive)
upgrade...
well yesterday we had 85+ temps and at about 5 o'clock i went out to see what i could do and sure enough it fired right up so i tinkered around and found that there was two loose screws (7/16) that held what looks to be a small primer pump on the side of the IP, its where the fuel line comes in...
im posting in alt fuels because honestly im just being optimistic my problem is personal stupidity and not mechanical malfunction.
background:
ive been running diesel and occasionally strait gas (usually had some diesel in the tank so i want worried and don't do it that often), when i find it...
well that explains my failed search attempts... yeah its a water can.
so aside from marking it for safety reasons is there any reason i cant use these for fuel?
i was given a Jerry can a few months back and never really thought much about it once i put it on the truck, after a while i began to take notice of Jerry cans in the pictures around here and i noticed mine is different than any Ive seen before. mine is a steel jerry can and fits in the holder...
