Recently finished a swap to 1 ton axles on my m1009. My rear shaft-axle "stock" u joint is a 3R-1350 conversion joint. Drove me crazy until i got it right. I must have 3 other u joints in the wrong size laying around. By your description it sounds like what you may have.

May I assume you've tried all three? If so, do you have pictures of the beam pattern on the road? Wouldn't mind something better than the two light spots on the road surrounded by darkness.
