    Just got a 1997 M1078 LMTV.

There is oil in the wheel hubs. Use a 1/4 drive and open them. If not there then it's the differential. You need a seal kit if it's the hub or axle seal. Your Diff vent hose may be plugged Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    Fast Axles

It would be nice if we could figure out what the merritor part numbers are for the 2.90 ratio if we need to get them manufactured and wait.

    Fast Axles

I have found a few sites claiming to have the right and pinion. Lowest I saw was $1700 per diff. So I didn't verify stock. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

M1088 Cab Air Suspension rebuilt-wow, what a difference!

I bought those cheap air bags but then found out the bushing for the strut is what leaks. If you want a cheap way to replace the band maybe this would work. https://youtu.be/of9p70H7gdg Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    1. We all love the looks of the truck and you can buy them for basically a buck a pound which is amazing. 2. If you have money and little mechanical skill you can buy a refurbished truck which will save you a pile of searching for parts and becoming an expert at each sub system. Things you...

    Fuel mixing guide

At this point I'm just stoking the fire. I'm designing the living space and holding off on engine modifications until I get it RV converted. As far as I can tell running a water only system will not improve performance at all and overwatering just quenches the combustion so it's both safe and...

    Fuel mixing guide

Sorry I got the HP wrong. I just looked up the the engine plate. Mine says: - Engine Code B - Max advance Kw 168 which puts my engine at 225 HP. An old now hard to find document from Cat rates the engines A-E with a range of 205-350 Bhp

    Fuel mixing guide

I started the original post because I was hoping I could run E85 with 50% water as a replacement for methanol/water injection. This would be to reduce the EGT. I'm concerned about overall engine temp because I know the 3116 170 HP model is limited by total heat. The marine variants produce twice...

    Fuel mixing guide

Ok I found a great video on youtube that details it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCXRUXOPMHQ The manual he is talking about can be found here. http://cgsc.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/ref/collection/p4013coll9/id/686

    Fuel mixing guide

So I had what I thought was a clever idea that turned out bad. I am planning to run a water/methanol injector system to keep the EGT down and possibly save some fuel. I'm sizing the water tank for the living space and I was wondering how much water the engine might consume. If I supply the...

    Fuel mixing guide

From what little I know about this subject the multi fuel engines have a regulator that changes the amount (volume) of fuel used by fuel type (density) so the throttle position is identical. In addition they have vitol o-rings so the seals don't break down with strong solvents (ethanol...

    Fuel mixing guide

I remember someone mentioning you can mix in ATF, WVO, Gasoline etc. I heard there was a table or manual for safe mixing ratios. Where can I find that?

    batteries in lmtv?

The batteries will fit in just find but be a bit low from what I'm told. You will also need some ratchet strap or something else to hold them down. The main battery cable is very flexible and you should be able to route it easy enough.

Post what is needed to Title an FMTV as an RV in YOUR state.

Technically all pick up trucks are Commercial vehicles because they could be used "for hire". As in hey man could you help me move my apartment and I'll get you some gas money and beer all the way up to hauling loads. It does not mean you need to have a regular business or anything. Also you can...
