So here's my first, "What's this?" post in the 5-ton section:
The little black canister on the air line to the CTIS controller. Looked through the TM's and didn't see anything. Looks like a little filter housing or almost like an air tool oiler? The little nipple at the bottom is threaded...
She's home!
Well, the 923A2 is home! Overall it wasn't a bad recovery. Steve from GP met us at the yard in Ogden. They were busy taking photos and inspecting another batch of Humvees. He was very nice and helped me jump start her and she roared right to life. Very simple, quick in and out...
That was the whole jist of the problem. The dash plate" date of inservice" was blank. I'm guessing the year will be blank on the SF97.
Got a Soldier B to go with me so I should have her home by nightfall this Friday!! Hope all goes well.
UPDATE: ISSUE SOLVED
Just talked to GP today and apparently they have resolved the issue. I WILL be getting a SF97.
Now I just need to get down there to UT and get her home!
Update: Talked to GP again today. They are having a meeting tonight or tomorrow to discuss this issue. It looks promising in the rep's opinion. They have been "schooled" on how GL did the SF97's and may be going with something similar. Sounds like they have been getting a lot of "guidance"...
Small world! Spent 37 years in Miami Township. Last 15 on the PD there. Fed up with the slow spiral down the toilet and moved out west. Never want to set foot in the Dayton Mall ever again!!
Welcome and enjoy the ride.
Yeah, I knew it was going to go downhill after that. She sounded like one of the stereotypical bureau-bots. No inflection in voice, no hint of wanting to help, just straight recitation of policy. I'm sure it's a tough job and you deal with a bunch of angry people, but at least "act" like you...
The saga continues...
I went to the bank and transferred the funds to GP. Trying to keep within the 3 working days. I had faith it was not as complicated as it appeared and GP would sort it out.
I spoke to a not-so-nice Vehicle Inspector in Idaho about the situation. She assured me she's...
Yeah, it's GovPlanet. They have been very nice so far and are trying to work something out. Here's how mine went:
You get the email you won the item, it directs you via link to their site. You click on the checkout process and it takes you to different steps. One of the steps is asking if...
That looks very nice. I did something similar to Jeep years ago to hook up all the extras I added to it. Of course it was just a straight 12V set up without the converter. Made adding accessories much easier.
Don't know, this is my first auction buy. They just said they couldn't issue a SF-97 without a model year??:shrugs: I'm going to go for it regardless. Truck just looks too nice to let it get away. Maybe since they're still new at this they are just over thinking it. I was more worried...
It looks like on the diagram that's the way it is factory wired. That 569A circuit runs from one of the batteries, to the main power switch, then to the circuit breaker, fan switch and finally the fan. Seems odd they would run a special circuit just for the low fan setting, even has its own...
