    HEADLIGHT QUESTION

socket I have had good luck with things like this at NAPA. I think for a turn signal there are only basic types one with a stagger/offset (for the two little pegs sticking out of the bulb) and one where the groves in the socket are straight across from one another. A ground wire can either...

    HEADLIGHT QUESTION

Ground As someone said before its most likely a ground problem. Try running a jumper wire from the engine (very best connection to battery ground) to the lights that are not working. If that fixes it look for the ground straps mentioned before. Can't find them considering installing one...

    Where is my coolant going?

Coolant loss Since the guy just "rebuilt" the head get the casting number(s) of the block and head and ask someone knowledgeable about the engine and see if its the right head for the block. Also, check to make sure the right head gasket was installed. I agree with the head bolt replacement...

Pic of stone guard mount on winch trucks...

Grill I put a winch on my 35 and the stone guard will fit on the grill just move the lower section to the back side of the grill. I think I had to buy a couple of 1/4 inch bolts but nothing fancy. If you want a better picture I can take another.

    Door Lock Replacement

Lock Usually if the window is rolled up there is enough clearance. Might try going to the library or auto parts store and gaze at one of the manuals for the civi model.

I wish I had it back!

Long shot Well I thought it might be a little to much to hope for. Maybe keep an eye open for another one to relive the good old days. Sometimes I long for my first first car, 1966 Olds 442 although I really miss my first truck 1969 Ford Econoline 302 with 3 on the tree.

I wish I had it back!

Long shot You know I know its a real big long shot but have you ever been back there to if any part of it exists (even the junkyard) in the junkyard? Imagine find a part and building a working vehicle from it. Stuff movies made from and probably get you quite a bit of satisfaction. I know...

    Axle disconnect

Question Excuse my ignorance but would putting some sort of one-way clutch in the read driveshaft work? Say something like when the axle was turning faster (I don't know if this is ever the case) from going around a corner it free wheels but is powered at the same speed as the other one.

    frame numbers

numbers The numbers on the data plate matches the frame number. I was just thinking that you (medlog) were able to come up with quite a bit of history based on the number that bugs had. I was wondering if it was a different number than the vin number. Can you come up with all that from...

    1.5 kw genset adjustment

generator I have one that was in the same condition, I think I had to replace the fuel line because of some sort of blockage of it or the fuel filter. There might also be a screen in the tank that needs to be checked. First thing to do is make sure gas is getting to the carb. If it is...

    My Poor Tractor

Lifting I use to work at a GMC truck Center. When we were closing it down we used a big chain hoist to pick up the front of a used truck were were sending off and carefully backed another truck under it. We did it carefully (used planks at times to protect bumpers) and did not have to use a...

    Sizzling

One more thing When you tighten the starter and cable up be sure to hold on to the the cable so that it does not spin and spin the bolt that goes through bakeolite cover on the end of the starter solenoid. Be sure to tighten it but not HERK on it as the cover will break with to much force.

    Sizzling

Lights Yes the loose nut most likely the cause. Loose connections produce higher resistance than tight ones. Resistance causes heat On some GM products there is a 8-10 gauge wire that attaches to the solenoid with the battery cable. This wire supplies voltage to other parts of the...
