mep-002a stuck float in day tank

Can't seem to unscrew float from day tank to clean it. Any suggestions? Also, is it possible to run the generator from the main storage tank and not use the day tank? I'm concerned that the float would stick and run fuel out of the day tank.

A few "Auto start" Questions MEP-003A

I bought an auto start unit for my MEP-002a from Green Mountain Generators and am very pleased with it. I start it from inside the house and after it has warmed up for one minute I flip a breaker to connect it to the load. When I’m done with the generator I flip the auto start switch and the...

    MEP-002a spin on fuel filters

Thinking about converting to spin on strainer and filters. Are one strainer and filter enough? I am running with only one fuel pump. Will the new filter(s) constrict the fuel flow more than the old version?

    MEP-002 diesel leak

I’m assuming there’s a gasket between the pump and engine. Will I need a new one to reinstall the pump? Is there a thread that describes how to do this and get the pump in proper time? Thanks

    MEP-002 diesel leak

Injection pump is dripping off the end of the lock wire. Do I only need to buy the control unit o-ring or a complete kit to fix it? The kit number from am-bac is KT85166. A kit with three less parts is KT85236.

    Mep002a leak at injection pump

I have diesel fuel dripping off of a twisted wire on the left side of the injection pump. If I run the fuel pump without starting the generator, it will leak then as well. Any thoughts? What will I need to do to fix it? Thanks

    MEP 002a synthetic engine oil?

What do you all think about using 5w-40 synthetic Rotella in this generator? I currently use regular 15w-40 year round but thought the 5w-40 would be better in the winter. I live in southwestern Virginia (once in a while it will get down into the teens).

    MEP002a meter issue?

My percent load meter on my machine will show 100% when the generator is only producing about 24 amps. It is set on the 120v position. At that amperage should it not read about 50%? Thoughts?

MEP-002a voltage not stable cooler weather

Machine has worked great all summer. This morning temperature was below 50F and voltage would not stay at 120v and was not adjustable. I had the same problem last winter and never thought it would be weather related. Meter on machine showed 80-100% load and yet it was drawing less than 30 amps...

    MEP-002 noise when starting

I have a noise when starting that may mean my starter or solenoid is about to go out. It still starts, but the starter gear may not be fully engaged. Do I need to know anything special before I take the starter off to see what I can find out?

    MEP-002A Voltage Issue

I've been suspicious that something is loose but can't find it. What wires were loose on your machine?

    MEP-002A Voltage Issue

The frequency gauge is correct and the frequency is rock solid, but thanks for your input.

    MEP-002A Voltage Issue

I am using the generator in the 120 V mode. At 24 amps, I get 110 V. At 15 amps, I get 118 V, and at no load, I get 124 V. The voltage at no load is adjustable, but not so much as load goes up. At higher loads, it's not adjustable. Thoughts?
