Sure. With the ignition on, the top post on my glow plug relay reads 24v. The 2 smaller posts between the top and the bottom posts each read 12v. The bottom (same size as the top) reads 0. Is this normal?

Well it tested bad so I had it rebuilt. I was getting voltage to the starter and solenoid but the starter wasnt doing anything so it definatly needed to be rebuilt. Now it turns over like a champ! However my glowplug system died. Always something. Andy

From what I have read about this is the fuel filter housing and/or fuel lines can leak air into them and not leak out due the small vaccuum created by the return system. This can lead to empty fuel lines and no fuel for the moring start-up. Might be a good place to start. And as you said the...

I used the Uhaul Autotransport trailer to bring my truck (1008) home from NJ to CT about 230 miles or so and it worked fine. Cost me 54 bucks for the day. Just make sure your tow vehicle is up to the task!

I second the body lift. I also had trouble with uhaul and getting a trailer. I ended up telling them I was going to get a Toyota Corolla! Turns out my 1008 fit fine and made the 400 mile trip without a glitch.

Got it started! I must have had an inop cutoff solenoid in the injector pump. I took the cover off and it looked clean but I cleaned it all up and freed up everything, put it back together and it fired right away. Runs beautifully. Thanks to everyone who offered advice! Andy

Ive done it before too and the one thing I would recommend is re gearing the diffs if you go to a 4sp. The gears are vry short with 4.56 rear gears. You may like that but I did not. As for resale value, if it was done correctly and professionally, I bet it would help - people never know what...

So the cutoff solenoid is what the pink wire attaches to? If its not working, no fuel to the injectors. How about the cold advance solenoid? If its inop will the truck start?
