    Seabee Deuce Crew Cab Project

I welded in the new outer rockers and some of the outer patches on today. I also started filling the holes on the floor. If all goes well I'll have the body off the frame by the weekend so I can start on the top.

    Seabee Deuce Crew Cab Project

I used the extra cab reinforcements off the back of first cab to reinforce the rear floors. After the brush on primer dries I can put the sheet metal plates over all the holes. The cab feels real sturdy after all of the reinforcements I welded in. I hoping to get the body back off the frame by...

    Seabee Deuce Crew Cab Project

I got both cabs on the frame today. I knocked off the rear of the frist cab and cleaned it up a bit. Now comes the fun part drilling out spot welds and cutting off the fire wall.

    Seabee Deuce Crew Cab Project

Well I got the cab off by myself today. It wasn't easy trying to balance the cab and work the cherry picker but it's done. Now I'm just waiting for a few friends to stop by so we can get the new cab back on.

    Seabee Deuce Crew Cab Project

Yeah it's too low. Got the dash & doors off and all the wiring out. Now I just have to pick up the gantry crane from a friend so I can get the cab off.

    Seabee Deuce Crew Cab Project

Sometimes a low garage is a pain in the a$$! Well it's in there so I started to pull it apart. Going to try to get the fenders and hood off then get the cab off. This cab has some rust holes on the cowl so it will be the back of the crew cab. It's going to be more work to switch them but it will...

    Seabee Deuce Crew Cab Project

Yeah the plan is to strip everything off the truck and weld the cabs together in the garage. After all the body panels are painted I will roll the frame in to single out the rear axle and paint it. I think I'll use my friends tow truck to put the cab back on in the driveway. It looked like the...

    Seabee Deuce Crew Cab Project

Well I got the extra cab out of the 101 trailer and mounted the 395's on the Hemmt wheels. Here are a few things I learned today. 1. If it looks heavy it heavier. 2. Soapy water is your friend. 3. A little bend in the hemmt valve stem makes easy to fill with air. 4. After fighting to get the...

    Seabee Deuce Crew Cab Project

Yep the rear of the cabs are wider than the fronts so you have to cut the floors from front to back then add a pie shaped filler piece in the floor. That way the front of the second cab will match the rear of the first cab.

    Seabee Deuce Crew Cab Project

After I cut the floor to widen the front I'm just going to weld in patches. A friend of mine has a sheet metal fab shop so I can bend up the trans tunnel and roll the pieces for the top. I think I will do the floor with Hurculiner when it's done.

    Seabee Deuce Crew Cab Project

From what I understand it's just a regular deuce with seabee logo. It has the whisler LTD motor and it used to have a water tank on the back of it. I bought it through a friend of a friend and were going up tommorrow to get it ready for it's 230 mile ride home next weekend. I will get some...
