    Fuel Line Question

I will chime in here on this subject. I run Biodiesel, And 100% Veggy oil in my M1009. Biodiesel is a great sourse for lubrication. I run all my diesels on Bio for that fact. With the Ultra low Sulfur diesel out there plays bad on older diesel parts. Having biodiesel, even B20 restores that and...

I have had that plunger stick several times on my M1009. I broke the plunger out and put it on, ran just fine, it was amazing how quickly it lost power then just died and won't start.

Can someone please tell me what size/thread/grade the starter bolt is. As I was starting to get ready to put my freshly rebuilt starter in I looked at one of the bolts and it didn't look right. I was broken. This is the second time this has happened. When I first go the truck a bolt broke...

    24v Starter

Has anyone here had any problems with starters shorting themselves out??
  11. B

    Found out what was wrong.

So I pulled the started on my M1009 this weekend. The motor has shorted itself internally. The solenoid will click, but when you try to get the motor to spin it sparks like crazy and no motor spin, If you smell the starter it has that burnt electronic smell. So off to the rebuild shop again.

The madness, Trying to get running.

The starter. When testing to see if it spins. There is two big nuts on the solenoid. One that the 24v supplys. The other is to put the power to the starter motor. When you want to jump it you put something metalic across these two post, Correct? And it should spin? I just want to make sure I am...

    M1008 transmission possesed

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: M1008 transmission possesed True true, that would be easy. But I have my heart set on converting it to a stick shift. So i think that is the path of my madness for right now. For the meanwhile. Is there anywhere specific I should go for the switch?

    M1008 transmission possesed

RE: Re: RE: M1008 transmission possesed I do know that the switch on the IP pump sticks on mine. If you go beat it with a screw driver it shifts nice for a while.

    M1008 transmission possesed

RE: Re: RE: M1008 transmission possesed I replaced all the vacuum lines. But it is an excuse for me to convert it to a stick shift. While I have the engine out I will do my heads and IP. I really should pull the left had to make sure all is well, and make sure it is still true.

    M1008 transmission possesed

RE: Re: RE: M1008 transmission possesed My M1009 shifts very hard and way to late. It is a real pain. So I am converting it to a SM465. I will like that so much more.

    Torque.

My plans are to pull the heads and replace the gaskets and bolts. But for now I want to torque them down to just be for sure.
