    What are these

I tore my engine down and took the parts to the machine shop. When I got it back I did the work of putting it all back together. About all the help I can give you is to say the parts pictured are not anything internal. I would venture a guess that maybe they were some type of clips for...

    Finally restoring the M37

Looks good, have fun adjusting the brakes. If you follow the TM you will get a good solid pedal and they work pretty well it just takes some time.

    Project M37a4

Hello Camoj7, hope all is well for you and the family. Any news on your project? Just realized you do not live very far from me. If you need a couple doors by chance I have two that are not in bad shape. I found two NOS ones for mine so I did not use the ones I had.

    Marine M37 build

Very true what Dodge Man says about the under coating. I picked up two take off fenders because mine were in pretty bad shape. They were indeed USMC fenders based on the color and under coating. I have also had others tell me USMC vehicles were undercoated which makes sense since we operated...

    M37 restoration work

    Looks quite nice.

    Marine M37 build

I will base my statement on what I observed when I was in. So from an official stand point I saw no depot modifications such as what might have been done at Barstow CA. At the organizational level I did see some units mount an eye bolt to the dash like the one used for the troop strap on the...

1953 M37 Carb Flooding. Assistance needed.

What ever it is will need to go into the book of odd but true stories. In the world of automotive engineering these vehicles are entry level so you would think with all of us out there helping we would have hit on something. One thing for sure is it doesn't make any sense.

M43 stubborn oil leak. Any ideas will be appreciated

Yes it has the tube to direct oil on to the chain. It was interesting to note the comments on the different seals and should the slinger be used or not. As far as I can tell looking at three different seals I have seen in kits the slinger should still fit. I am currently running a seal that...

M43 stubborn oil leak. Any ideas will be appreciated

YES there should be an oil slinger in there. Been down this road with mine having the same issues. Mine had a bent cover which I straightened and got the leak down to a very small rate. I now have a new cover that I plan on installing this winter some time.

    Something to check

Hope all goes well with your project. When I did the machine work on mine I took it to a local guy who has been in business for 30 years building classic car and racing engines. One thing I had him do was based on a number of articles and threads I read on the SS blog. It appears that these...

    Something to check

If you have all the original piping, valves and lines in place and the fording cable is pulled out you could get pressure building up in the crankcase and force oil out of the rear main seal as well as other places. I see you also were dealing with a blocked PVC system which would give similar...

    Finally restoring the M37

Interesting that your USAF cab and fenders were rust free. I also used a USAF cab tub on my restoration which was rock solid and rust free. My fenders came from a USMC truck and were also solid and did not have the usual rust out around the head light mounts because the Marines undercoated...
