2018 Georgia Military Vehicle Rally buy-sell-trade

I have a ARFAB tent (like the ones used for the Mess Tent at the rally). I've offered it to Clinto for 800 bucks to use for the rally.....if he passes it will be for sale and I'll bring it to the rally. I also have a set of military camo netting (diamonds and hexes and poles/spreaders and...

Help Identify this Building Mover MV

It's called a"Dragging Wagon". Used to haul tanks and other heavy equipment. They were chain drive and very slow on the road.

How is the value of the M35A3 holding up?

The first one that I saw sell on GL sold for 30K. I bet that guy is still crying in his beer. I drove one home for a guy from SC to Al. I was not impressed with the top end....slower than the slowest deuce I ever owned. And they are butt ugly. If you are not in a hurry to sell it you can...

Issues with sitting for a prolonged period?

In the Army we did what was called "Motor Stables" every week. Once a week (usually on Tuesday) each assigned driver would do Preventive Maintenance and Checklists (PMCS) on their vehicle. We also did it on trailers, generators and other mechanical equipment that the unit owned. All systems...

Howdy all, New guy here. With a question, go figure :)

You can leave it "hot" if you know how to drive it. You have to back off the fuel in a long hard pull or with a load on it (find a gear it will pull in at about 1600 RPM and let her pull). Dumping fuel to it will cause a reconfiguration of the internals (usually at the most inopportune time)...

    New to m35a3

Anything with a yaller motor in it is going to cost you big bucks when it breaks. That truck comes with what is basically a throw away engine. The M35A3 was designed by a crew of idiots after consulting with a bunch of morons. Biggest waste of taxpayer dollars since the Gamma Goat. Good luck...

    Help finding/buying M35 Deuce

There are a couple of schools of thought on buying your first deuce. One is buying a fixer upper and learning how all the systems work and are maintained. The other is to buy a turn key truck from someone who buys and flips them and get instant gratification just driving it and taking it to...

    Basic G.L Auction Question(s)

I have bought a lot of stuff from GL over the years to include vehicles (before they lost the vehicle contract). It should tell you how many items are in the lot. In the case of sleeping bags (your example) they are not going to sell them one at a time. They generally reserve that for large...

Engine replacement for MAN KAT 6x6

Lots more info needed. Where are you located? What engines are available in your area that would be a cost effective replacement? The bell housing size and configuration will determine if there is a drop in replacement option. Going from an air cooled V configuration to a water cooled in...

Would a M35A2/LDT465 parts manufacturing business be successful?

I think it will cost a ton of money to tool up and unless you can show a lot of potential for sales no one is going to invest to get you started. And you will be competing with overseas companies that are already making replacement parts. Making the parts one at a time on a demand basis will...

    M109 and M35a2 differences

Unless you turn the engine up (1900 RPM is about normal military setting) and put taller tires on you are going to be a toad in the road. It's the nature of the beast. Riding along in the slow lane of the interstate at 45-55 MPH and having big rigs blast by you at 75 plus is nerve wracking...

Need alternator and transmission for M915/916/920

I searched the classifieds and no joy. A buddy I sold several M915's to is looking for a couple of spare alternators and transmissions for his trucks. Does anyone know if these are 12 volt output with a converter on back or 24 volt with converter to make 12 volts for the 12 volt items on the...

M52A2W Buying Opportunity.. Good or Bad?

I had a multi-fuel tractor.....I used it to pull a van trailer I bought at Eglin AFB in Fla to Northeast Alabama. On flat land I could make 45 mph........wouldn't pull a greasy string out of a fat cat's arse. In low range they'll pull ell's half acre if you can chain up to it.

Is This One of Us? This Is Incredible to See

Just because you can do something is no reason to do something. I value my truck too much to abuse it like that. Your mileage may vary.

I said farewell to the m275a2 deuce tractor today.

I miss my little M275 but she went to someone that is giving her the love I couldn't spare. They are great little trucks.

    Wiper options

I have a deuce that was equipped with the electric wiper modification. I say was because someone "midnight requisitioned" said wiper system while the truck was in GL's possession. I thought I saw a thread about what civilian electric wipers will basically fit the existing holes. I checked...

    Cost of Water fording

Just watched a video that showed several 5 tons under water. They belong to Harris County. Someone made a grave error in judgement in taking them into very high water. My guess is that they are hydro locked and ruined. Prob be on sale in a few months on one of the auction sites.

I hate to even post this, but I'm at a loss attaining insurance on my M931A2

I have a semi-commercial farm policy with Progressive. We have 43 acres and are considered a working farm by the local USDA. My M927A2 is insured for 16K with full coverage. Costs me around 600 a year. No restrictions on use or where to park it. Your mileage my vary.
