    m929 dump.engine lock up ???

Well that sucks. If the truck is in good physical condition why part it out? An engine transplant can't be that hard. Dumps bring pretty good money. I know finding a cheap pull out that is close can be a challenge but there were a lot of these trucks being parted out a while back. Jeff Davis in...

OK...I changed out the passenger side windshield on my 923A2 and still has gaps

You have to be SCUBA qualified to drive most MV's in heavy rain. I may have an extra wiper motor out in the parts trailer. If so I'll cut you a deal (well....I won't bend you over like a dealer would).

    5 Ton expansible campers..Plan B Supply..

M35 with Cat multi-fuel engine? This guy don't know chit from Shinola about military vehicles. I bet the price is as imaginative as the description.

How to prime A3 fuel system.

You do not want to put a lot of air pressure on the system. You just want to push the fuel to the IP. Too much pressure and something will blow out. 5 PSI or less will do it.

    Alaska to Alabama in Brutus

I had an 86 "Shovette". My kids called it that because they had to push start it often due to the idiotic placement of the starter (I finally replaced it when they absolutely refused to ride in it with me until I did). It was a great little car but it was designed by a group of idiots after...

    M916A1 'Recovers' V12 COE Peterbilt.

I pulled those lowboys at Fort Benning with a M916. They are good trailers but those steel cover plates would take off a finger in a heartbeat if you got careless. The loading ramps that came with it were a ball buster too. The best way to change tires on them was to pick the back end up with a...

    M818 TV show rental

I was just contacted a few weeks ago to supply four deuces for a movie shooting in GA (Tom Cruise, mega budget). They were offering 500 per day per truck and they were to be static (stuff being loaded/unloaded). They balked when I told them they would have to pay shipping both ways since the...

    M916A1 'Recovers' V12 COE Peterbilt.

Otherwise known as the "buzzinn dozen". Years ago when I ran west coast my boss put me in a long nosed Western Star with a 400 Cummins and a 15 speed double overdrive in it. That rascal would run 110 MPH all night long (and often did out in New Mexico and west Texas). One night I was cruising...

Putting a bed on an M818

If you leave the 5th wheel in place the bed will sit higher than a normal cargo bed. Unless you use an M105 bed you will prob have to cut down a deuce or 5 ton bed to prevent a lot of overhang. I don't think it would be necessary to mount a kingpin plate on the bottom of the bed to hold it in...

    Wheel Adapters ?

If they had to change rims they would lose the CTIS (assuming it works and they want to keep it). Plus all the hassle of closing off the CTIS system.

M809 series transfer case stuck in neutral

Ron still holds the worlds record for longest jump in an M819. I'd pay a quarter for a video of that.

    M977 or M985?

These trucks are great at what they were built for but they were designed by an idiot after consulting with a moron (prob a retired Transportation Officer). They are loud, ride like an oxcart and will suck the bottom out of the fuel tank. Learning to drive that cab forward design is a steep...

    Questions on buying an M818

Unless you just like the look of the 800 series and the stick shift you can get a 900 series tractor for less than that if you look around. The A2's have the 8.3 turbo diesel which are quieter and more user friendly than the old 250 Cummins. They have been selling cheap lately.

    M983 recovery

My buddy just bought two trucks here in Alabama and GP put a lot of pressure on him to use their shipper. There seems to be a lot of confusion about were the trucks are physically located (you can't preview them). Looking at the pictures I'd say they are near the National Guard complex in...

    M983 recovery

If you are bound and determined to drive it back to CA I would try to find some weight to put on that 5th wheel. You can get into deep doo doo on a wet road in that vehicle with a light rear end. The HEMMT cargo trucks were bad to hydroplane when empty on a real wet road. They also skate like a...

    M983 recovery

Without sounding judgemental I have to ask if you thought about shipping before you bought the beast. I drove HEMMT cargos and tankers in Korea and I would not wish a drive to California in one on my worst enemy, especially a bob tailed tractor. There are stretches of road between here and...

    Alaska to Alabama in Brutus

Since you have changed your route (maybe) you may want to angle down and hit I-40 to Memphis and then over to Bama on Hwy 72. Then run 157 to 278 which would put you in my AO. I just rented space in a 360,000 foot warehouse that you can drive up into. If you need to lay over we can arrange it...
