    SF 97 Charges unfair

When you buy a vehicle from any dealer you pay "Doc" fees....that is the cost of doing business. They are not going to eat a fee that has to be paid to the gooberment. Pick your battles wisely.

    Front Receiver Hitch

Should be easy to fab....just drop down off the frame to what ever height you need. Might be a little more difficult with a winch truck. Since I am assuming you are not going to be pulling a trailer down the road in reverse you could even make one that would pin into the shackle mounts.

    Redstone closed

I made it up there today...saw some storm damage on the way up...mostly trees down and minor damage to buildings in Guntersville. As usual Teresa and her crew were on top of their game. Forgot to take any pics......Elmo was pissed.

Wanted: opinions on our custom mirrors

They remind me of the old style "elephant ear" mirrors of old......I always hated them since they did not give a big view all around the truck. Nice fab work but I'll stick to West Coast mirrors.

    Commercial DL ?

Yes and no. Yes if you go over a certain Gross Vehicle Weight. You can bobtail an M818 and be OK, (in some states) if you put a loaded trailer behind it you get into CDL requirements. No it doesn't have straight air brakes so you are exempt in some states. You have to check your states...

Pin up art on a deuce.

The guys that manned the guntrucks got a lot of lattitude in decorating their trucks. Soldiers had to be subtle about applying names or art to their trucks. Most trucks were inspected weekly in garrison when PMCS was performed.....uniformity was the name of the game.....Motor Sergents or...

Wreckerman's Wood Fired Waste Oil Heater and Possum Parcher

If I can figure out a way to atomize and burn it I will do so......but nothing flammable goes to waste around here......I use all of my non-fuel flammables for starting fires.

    M35 vs M813???

One thing not mentioned is that just about everything on the 5 ton is heavier.....I have had a 5 ton multi-fuel tractor and a M816 wrecker. Wrestling 5 ton tires and rims is a beotch. Anytime I get the urge to get another 5 ton I go out in the back yard and move that 5 ton brake drum from...

Any shops or mechanics with MV experience near Northern VA?

I had a 5 ton tractor with the Multi in it. (1) Drain the tank and make every effort to get all the crud out of it.....the tank has baffles in it so you just have to do your best. (2) While you are at it take the fuel pump out of the tank and make sure the pickup screen is clean.....also...
