    Deuce idle time question

I would recommend getting 4-6 deep cycle marine batteries and making a battery bank to run the inverter off of. That will store a lot of power and when it gets low you can then use the deuce to recharge it using a medium idle to put max power out of the alt. You may need a charge controller on...

Wreckerman's Wood Fired Waste Oil Heater and Possum Parcher

I do not run straight WMO........the correct formula for 100 gallons of "Wreckerman's Special Deuce Elixer" is: 30 gallons WMO 30 gallons Waste Veggie Oil 30 gallons straight diesel fuel 10 gallons regular gasoline. Due to high fuel prices I may cut 5 gallons of gas and 10 gallons of...

Wreckerman and Elmo available full time

Since Elmo rides on the back of the passenger seat I have to make an extra effort to dodge his dumber cousins when they cross the road at night. One ran out in front of us coming back from the radio station the other night.....I couldn't dodge it so I split the difference....looked back in the...

Wreckerman and Elmo available full time

I saw the article about dillos....they are not on my A list for food sources. Their natural state seems to be in the middle of the road mashed into the pavement.

    m295a1 trailer

You would have to lose the bed and put the 5th wheel on the frame (unless you had a flatbed body)....and unless you wanted the landing gear on the trailer to drag the ground you would either jack up the truck (bigger tires) or raise the 5th wheel. You would also have to rig up an air system...

Wreckerman and Elmo available full time

BUMP!!!!!! OK folks.....Elmo is almost of Purina Possum Chow and I am starting to consider him as an emergency food source. We need some gainful employment.......If anyone needs a preview or pickup at Redstone or Anniston Army Depot send me a PM......I am available every day this week except...

    Another Brake Modification

Didn't the military have a dual system master cylinder on some Air Force deuces.....why not convert to that instead of re-inventing the wheel?

Wreckerman's Wood Fired Waste Oil Heater and Possum Parcher

Yes....WMO is Waste Motor oil. That is correct Sir. As far as adding anything else I have not put any fresh diesel or gasoline in the 250 gallon tote that holds the WMO...I have however added all kinds of scrap flammable liquid to it. There is transmission fluid, hydrolic oil, gear oil...

    ford cucv?

A lot of TMP's had civy vehicles that were used for "ash and trash" missions around post. I used to have to drive around in a Chrysler K-car and haul visiting officers in them.

    Problem after replacing battery

That is the nature of the beast. For a while I was buying brand new blems with 1200 CCA for 40 bucks each.......unfortunantly my source dried up. Since I have three dueces I keep two extra sets of matched batteries on standby (not in the trucks) so I always have a hot set ready to go. The...

    cucv price?

There are so many varibles when buying an MV you have to decide what it's worth to you. A while back a nice CUCV sold for more than a nice M916 at Redstone.:cookoo: You will prob pay more for a CUCV than you wll a deuce. I don't like the CUCV family of vehicles. They are prone to...

    Deuce Battries

Two high CCA batteries will work for a deuce......should be a matched pair and have top posts. The battery hold downs are made for the TL's but you can cross brace the batteries with 2x4's and they will not move around. I had a good source for blems but it has dried up.

    M35 a2 vs m35 a3

I have both an AK and an AR.....I will however never own a M35A3 for the simple matter of that yaller engine in it. Let me repeat what I have opined in several threads concerning A3's......A CAT is a very reliable engine until it breaks.....when it does (and it will eventually) unless your...

    72 M35A2 Recovery

I did not see a spare mounted. Is one included? Finding a replacement out on the road could be a booger. Those are not 900x20's on there. There are several threads about recoveries that tell what to take along but never forget that Mr. Murphy is always standing by and the one item you didn't...

Family User Friendly M109 Camper/ Bug Out Vehicle Pics

Great fab work....the only issues I have with the roof mount AC's is low clearance and leaking due to flexing. Before I sold my M109 I was planning on putting an AC/heater like they use in motels in the front of it (those plans have shifted to the big van trailer I have now). Reference a...

    SF 97 Charges unfair

Then please feel free to carry your happy a$$ on down the road to a forum that suits you better. Some people would whine if you hung them with a new rope.

    redstone, AL to Richmond VA

You may have to go with an RGN trailer......if so the cost is going to be high. GL will push it up on a lowboy on their end but it would be wise to have somebody up there to work with them. PM me if interested.
