    Bought a M880!

The little 318 in there is a great engine....you can do some light performance mods on it and increase HP and fuel milage. Bring it up to Sand Rock or the 2011 GA Rally.

Overland Park Ks bans Mv's at home

Recall elections if appropriate. More than likely the a-holes that got this passed are appointed and immune to public oversight. You need to get the press on your side along with local military service organizations. If nothing else embaress the crap out of them and bring all the heat to...

    What is a fair price

One way to keep costs down is to find a trailer with extra space available. The driver (or company) may have already have a paying load and just want to finish out the trailer and earn some extra revenue. Uship, load boards, brokers and other sources will help. Since diesel is headed north...

Black Ice Driving - Atlanta area

There is no good way to drive on sheet ice.......especially down south....there are too many morons out there that do not understand the concept of "slow down in bad conditions". Most of the A-holes in Hotlanta can't drive on dry pavement on a good day.....if it were me I would stay off the...

Hit large hidden rock - suspect damage to torque bar

I meant the front rear axle.

    Disappearing Auctions????

GL can pull items for any reason they see fit. Sometimes an item is flagged by the gooberment for some obscure reason and GL removes it or them. Selling items for less than they are worth has never stopped GL before.

Hit large hidden rock - suspect damage to torque bar

You made need to make a more careful examination.....if the front axle is out of alignment something has shifted. Is there another SS member in the area that can help you check it out while you are slowly rolling along. Making some broad turns at low speed may show you where the prob is.

    M553 10ton GOER Update

You need to improvise some troop seats for the GOER so you can take people on trailrides. I'd pay a quarter to ride in it.:jumpin:

Anybody ever use railroad to get GL buy home

You have to be very careful buying railcars.....sometimes they are on abandoned tracks and cannot be moved to an active line. Then there is the issue of bearings on the cars....you cannot move cars with older type bearings and before a railroad will move it it will have to be inspected. Also...

Who paid the $39K for the 915 in Ft. Smith

The M920 is a lot easier to manuver.....I bobtailed a M911 around a motor pool (it was one of the few vehicles I was not licensed on in the Army). It has the turning radius of an aircraft carrier. With a full load on the fuel milage is measure in gallons per mile.

Scavenging Fuel - Can a Deuce Do It?

How about a steam/electric hybrid? Use a steam engine coupled to a genny to produce electricity (ran on waste oil) to either run a small vehicle (pickup would be be best since you could mount the engine in the bed) or charge batteries for an all electric vehicle. The problem is that small...

Scavenging Fuel - Can a Deuce Do It?

It must be hard to walk with balls that big.

    Why the fuss?

I drove the CUCV's and the pickups in the Army plus anything else with wheels (and some things tracked). I was never a big fan of them due to the grimlin prone electrical system. But all vehicles have their problems including my deuces. I guess it is just a matter of taste and what your...

Scavenging Fuel - Can a Deuce Do It?

I can see punching the fuel tank because most of them have anti-siphon devices in them. A lot of them are plastic and can be opened easily with a cordless drill with a big bit. Put your catch pan under the tank, drill a hole and get gas (assuming the owner kept the vehicle fueled up, I never let...

    M916-M920 Tech & Tips

There is no such thing as too much knowledge......please post away. Due to budget constraints I have sold all my M915's and 916. If things get better I am going to shoot for a M920 since there is no such thing as having too much truck. Maybe the mods can make it happen.

Scavenging Fuel - Can a Deuce Do It?

The EMP will follow electrical paths......even equipment in Faraday Cages will have to be disconnected from antennas and outside power sources until the danger of EMP is over. In a sneak attack very little equipment will survive......the military keeps "war stocks" of vehicles and equipment...

Scavenging Fuel - Can a Deuce Do It?

You may be thinking of the Neutron Bomb: As per wikipedia.... A neutron bomb, or enhanced radiation weapon (ERW), is a type of nuclear weapon designed specifically to release a large portion of its energy as energetic neutron radiation rather than explosive energy. An ERW explosion is...
