Sounds like one you would have to work on.
I have a nice one for $6500.00 in NE Alabama
Check my thread "New deuce in town" for pics.
It is cherry and a strong runner, has winch, hardtop, new cammo cargo cover etc.
PM for details.
I have one w/winch in Decatur, AL, that is cosmetically...
Noooooooooo,
I am asking 6500.00 for it.
It ran 55-60 all the way home on I-20.
Never missed a beat. Pulls real strong on the hills.
Note new radiator and steering box.
Move to Alerbammer....I have had 7 MV's at one time in the field next to me. The only question I got was "are you in some kind of milita?"
Some public officials have nothing better to do than to try to justify their overinflated pay.
His next stop was prob the coffee shop where he took a long...
A fellow down the road brought this by the other day because he saw all the military vehicles in the yard and assumed I knew something about working on them.
He wanted to use it to power a small travel trailer but after trouble shooting it I determined that it needs a lot more work than I can do...
They are good for stationary work.
IF you have to road march them....pack a lunch.
They are slow and all hydrolically driven.
Won't pass their own shadow and blow hoses constantly (leaving arond 50 gals of fluid on the ground).
Stay away from them unless you are a glutton for punsihment.
The NG Chemical unit in my town has no deuces or 800 series 5 tons. The Engineer unit in Jacksonville has turned in most of theirs.....got a few left but they look like they are getting ready to turn them in too. They have a bunch of 105 trailers that look like they are heading to DRMO too.
NAPA # is 3511 for the primary and 3512 for the secondary BUT BE AWARE that the gaskets are different...you can install them but they are a BEOTCH...I order my filters from Teds in Alabama...cost a little more but everything fits and he can get them to you quick.
Don't forget to crack open the bleeder valve on top of the secondary fuel filter set up.
Do this with the switch on and the in-tank fuel pump running.
The fuel filters may have been drained or leaked out. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to get all the filter cans full and fuel to the pump.
You...
Ref you question about alternate fuels...the deuce will digest just about anything with a BTU rating.
Mine is on a diet of half waste motor oil and half diesel but I have burned a mix of 50-50 kerosene and waste veggie....it loved it.
With a heat exchanger you can run straight veggie as long as...
There are several members that have added civilian mufflers to the deuce to make them quieter.
Do a search and see if a thread will pop up.
I personally like the sound they make....especially if they have the whistler turbo on them.
Buy a good set of hearing protectors and enjoy.
