Buttweet. You can go to the Allison website and pull up the different MFR's for the TES-295 approved oil, Yours should be a TM654CR. 10 weight engine oil has about the same thermal efficiency of water, and the TES-295 spec has leaps and bounds better thermal capability as well as corrosion...
I'd build some temporary low bumper for the inspection then take it back off, 90 or 100 in the rears and 110 in front seems to work. Thanks for the Napa x-refs
I did the engine oil and filter on mine today, and am going to use the SYNTRAN from JD in the trans. My neighbor is a mech for JD, so free delivery and employee discount on the oil. I'm going to change both the filter in the pan, and the spin-on. The only thing used I can find in the cab is...
As previously ordered By decree of CARNAC I cut the steering wheel chain off my M923 and flogged myself with it mercilessly 3 times. It is now time to drink Scotch! Thanks CARNAC!

Hi gang. is there a way to tell the year of MFR from the ID number on an M-923A1?
Also, is there anyone who knows what the different MWO codes are?
I am going to look at a 923 tomorrow and wanted to be able to decipher some of that info.
Thanks!
Thanks to all for the excellent advice. We're trying to determine how long they've had the unit, and go from there, but a paperwork review will be underway. It needs a set of batteries as well.
Sorry for posting in the wrong forum section.
Need some help, Sheriff's office wants to trade M923 5 ton for some FM radios I donated for their airplane. I think the M923 was from DRMO to an LEA on a Demil code Q6 but they want to trade it to me for the radios. Any idea if this is doable? Do we need an EUC, or get an SF97 somewhere? The...
