running poorly, lack of power, black smoke, at higher rpm. sluggish

And the job can not be done anywere. Must be something like a clean room! Wash your hands, keep everthing that looks somewhat dirty or dusty out of the range of your work side. ANY peace of debris will make injectors leak! Wolf

Did Dodge make a 1-ton crew cab for the military in 1985?

W200 / W300 crew cabs were definetely in use at the military at least in Europe in the late 70's and the 80's. Some even with manual transmission. I saw and inspected at least one W200 crew cab with the reare manual transmission. Had a 9" bed. Origin was the Air Force. They had a lot of non...

running poorly, lack of power, black smoke, at higher rpm. sluggish

Hm, seems to be something severe. Did you check the propper setting of the IP. There is a mark in the housing and a mark on the IP fange. These two markings MUST be perfect in line. If the markings are perfect in line the other possibility are worn injectors which with 70,000 miles is very...

Hey two.fiveM35 and kvflyer, seems you have been stationed in Germany. Also, warum nur Curry Wurst, Weisswurst und Bitburger. Wie ist es mit Hausmacher? Und Bitburger ist nicht das beste Bier! Falls das Deutsch nicht mehr reicht: Why only Curry Wurst or Weiswurst and Bitburger biere. How about...

    1943 German Army BMW R75 w/sidecar and trailer. 1/2.

Paul Farber, here in Europe we know the sources for BMW R75 parts, of which many are better than the original parts, better maschining due to better tooling. But a chineese bike will not be a replacement for a R75. The reason is very simple: No possibler registration here in Europe, exhaust...

    CUCV mileage question

HM, big challenge! So what to say to the problem: useually MV in Service go to depot maintainance after some 50 to 70,000 miles. In thedepot the vehicle is set to zero, means all parts are rebuilt to new standard. With the age of the CUCV series vehicles, it is very well possibe, that they...

    M32 Recovery Vehicle (Sherman Tank)

I think, from the original suppliers little help can be expected. The tooling should be scraped years ago. Transmissions were built by John Deere, Waterloo/IA factory. Road wheels were of relatively poor quality, lasting under normal circumstances some 300 hours of use, in gravel much less. So I...

    1943 German Army BMW R75 w/sidecar and trailer. 1/2.

To my understanding the BMW R75 is a BMW and not a Swiss Condor 650, not a Ural or Dnjeper or something Chinese. Ural, Dnjeper and Chinese use different locking carbs. Ural can be used to fake a R12, however the cylinder is slightly different, the rear susspension is different etc. The pintle is...

    oil from head gasket

Is it just humid from oil or is oil running. If running, replace the head gaskets. The trailer load will not increase the pressure in the combustion chambers, which is arround 60 bar during ingnition (some 420 PSI). With or without trailer. Wolf
