Gotta tell u guys, dont have the opportunity to do that type of thing up in the northern woods of Idaho. But, just thinking of you all carrying the torch of freedom makes my heart sing a warriors song of steel mirth.
Not all American males can lead lives of castrated complacency. God Bless you...

Recently a fellow, who seems to be the type to know a bit about the winches we are talking about, told me that cheep grade 5 bolts can be used in leu of the correct shear pin. Is this wise? Has anyone done this and tested such a "modification?"
thanks,

Thanks Bjorn for the post. Have not started my fording project yet but your last post will give me a starting point. From there I will let on the job experience be my guide.

Suppose I could have just PM'd the thanks to Robert for the wrench I just got for my compressor but, Nahhhh. Have seen prev threads indicating that there are people who want to work on their compressors with other more mundane tools. IMHO, good on you all for your intestinal fortitude, but hey...
Bjorn, Freight Train, Thanks for the additional information. This thread should get me started. I will try to only PM you guys when I hit the brick wall. Your right, many things are self evident once you dive in and get started. Appreciate the specification of copper tubing along the frame and...
Was reading the thread about Dennis in Shelby helping out. First things first. Great photos Dennis! Thanks for being the kind of individual who takes action. [thumbzup]
I apologize if this has been covered already but I gotta ask. With respect to plumbing my own rig for deep water ops do you...
I've been dealing with a company in Ogden Utah named Boyce Trucking equipment and parts. the guy on the other end of the phone is Brett. Phone number 1.801.393.0007 I've ordered things from tandem axil bracket to air packs to steering gears and more. So far no problems. The company apparently...
