RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Axle Breather Valves
Bjorn, when you plumbed your vents am I right in assuming that you ran a T from the air system with a regulator to step down the pressure to 2 PSI?

interstate guy said U in 6UTL indicates manufacturer. sure nuff looked at the body of the battery and it was stamped 6TL USA and the sticker on the top of the battery was marked 6UTL
Was told by a local shop that can get interstate batteries that the 6TL had been re-nominclatured (a word?) to 6UTL. Shop said these were mil-spec. Anyone know of this?

RE: Solarizer on the duece
yea, checked with solargizer company yest and the 24 volt system only pulses and cleans plates. the 12 volt units pulse and charge. gonna go with 2 12 volt chargers on my deuce. Nice mount chaplain sir. thinking of doing the same type of setup.

RE: Must Read! Hurricane Katrina
Sarge,
Words are inadequate and not up to the task, however, I want you to know that my wife and I are praying for you and that you and your family are in our thoughts.

Ken, checking my brake fluid with each pre-drive check list now as well. Have a vented cap on the way and eventually will mount a remote reservoir behind the drivers seat. also gonna build a pressure bleeder, redo wheel cylinders and replace airpack and brake shoes as needed. the wife always...
RE: Must Read! Hurricane Katrina
God Bless you John. Answering the call is what its all about. The image of a lone deuce heading in the opposite direction of everyone else and through destruction, headed toward where the need is greatist, made me reflect on what the true measure of a man is...
when you are hooking up the solargizers where are you mounting the photopanel and are you running a larger guage splice to the battery to reduce resistence?
As is the case these days I was reading my TM's before bedtime and I noticed that under the brake bleeding section there is a diagram that shows the master cylinder filler plug with a vent line leading into it. Funny, when I was cleaning off the top of my deuces master cylinder yest in prep for...
Am thinking of getting a trailer for my M35 and was wondering what would be the best trailer for off road stability/carry capacity on a deuce that was loaded with 4 to 5 thousand pounds of weight in the bed. Thanks.

Gentlemen, thank you for the advise. first course of action will be to tighten all mounting hardware, clean off all oil markings and run it for awhile. its true that all i've really done with the truck since purchasing it is idle and a few short runs. got the motivation to dive in an do the hard...
thanks. i have noticed the the bolts holding on the exhaust manifold are loose such that I can turn some of them by hand with a 6 inch box wrench. planning on getting new gasket for the intake/exhaust manifold and replacing and torquing to spec. i was idling the truck for awhile in 95-100...
well once I got the tandem axil bracket repaired and changed out all the fluids in the m35 I noticed oil dripping down from the starter. Traced the origin to the bottom portion of the exhaust manifold where it bolts to the block and even a slight amount from the exhaust portion of the turbo...
I recently revamped my seat with close-cell foam (approx 1/2 inch thick) layered to comfort and stitched together. I was not looking for a stock look however.
As far as the curved wood goes, one option is to get two layers of plywood half the thickness your looking to achieve. Glue these...
Dennis,
the original bracket was damaged when the retaining nut came off and allowed the bushing to move under stress. I dont know how the old boy continued to function without some kind of major failure but the frame and bracket basically held together because the leaf springs were retained by...
Below are some pics of my tandem axil bracket repair in progress. My thanks to SS and all who gave advice before I started my first MV repair. The axil bracket that came with the truck was destroyed when the mounting hardware came off and the truck continued performing duties. List of weapons...
