Attempted to change the back glass gasket and shattered the back glass in the process. I dont suggest anyone who isnt a glass professional trying that. Update. So i got a new glass today and installation is fairly easy. So if you are removing your back glass, cut it out. I wouldnt recommend...

You are right. A simple addition of a wire and ring terminal piggybacked on the original wire at the solenoid is the best way to add without splicing. You could also just t-tap into the blue wire before it goes into the harness to prevent having to run a new wire through the firewall. All you...

1st CUCV, 1985 M1009 New to site and testing

For just a simple test to ensure the solenoid is working, you can take a jumper wire and jump from a clean ground to the BLUE wire on the solenoid underhood beside the hydroboost/master cylinder. When you do it should make a loud thump and if you have a voltmeter, you should measure 12v on...

    1986 Camp Shelby M1008 Restoration

Went to work the other morining (16 mile drive) and forgot that I left the hubs locked in. So when I got to work I had a plesant transmission fluid spray down the side of my truck and a puddle of trans fluid under the transfer case. Changed the front output seal when I got home with a National...

    1986 Camp Shelby M1008 Restoration

Installed a new water pump, upper hose, lower hose, and the little hose over the past two nights. The WP was weeping so I felt it was time to take care of it. The job was quite the task but it may have been made tougher by having no light and it raining the entire time. I would suggest not doing...

New Tires - 285/75/16 on stock springs and wheels - different size spare?

The 285/75 is 32.8 inches tall. The 235/85 is 31.7 tall. So you will be just fine. I doubt you would even notice it. I wouldnt run it for a long length of time, but it will get you out of a pinch just as any spare should.

Need some help M1009 will not start up.

What i did with mine when i recovered it was unplug the injection pump pink wire and spin the motor over for about 20 seconds. That lets the supply pump get fuel to the filter. Pull the hose off the output side of the filter and let it run out if you want to be extra careful. If it still wont...
