When in doubt,add gallon at a time- 1 gallon of antifreeze,then 1 gallon of water. When you get close,start and circulate.then quart at time.

it was the pump itself. tried soaking it. seemed free but after reinstall,wouldn't run. finally replaced with another ip. don't know if it's worth trying to fix the original. thanks to all for the help!!!!!!!!!!!

more than likely,it's just very old diesel. it smells like this and is usualy dark colored. get rid of it and clean tank filter housings ect.

no go on the linkage. it appears to be bound in the ip. can it be disasembled and freed up?

you can take the switch apart and reverse it-probably what has happened. i had a switch not working and tooke it apart to fix it . mine now works but is also reversed. left mine alone as i'm a firm believer in" if it ain't broke don't fix it"

have a stickey ip throttle linkage.that is the ip pump linkage won't move up when the start solenoid is engaged. thought i saw this covered in the past,but i can't find it.i assume it's varnished from sitting-although it's a 06 rebuild. can the ip be partialy disaembled and cleaned?
