Me and My Son will be there either late friday or very early saturday morning, will be bringing my M1009 (which my wife calls it Tweety Bird) since it's painted yellow and white, like to have it back to camo but who else in the U.S. has one that color with a light bar on top, can't miss me...

    Glow plug replacement

When I had to change out my glow plugs, 3 out of the 8 were swollen, didn't have the specialty tool to get them out so what i did was pulled the injector, put a piece of paper towel into the injector hole, broke off the tip and pushed the swollen part back into it and the towel kept it from...

    Diode Trio and Extra

If you are having a hard time finding your Diode Trio or anything else for your generators, i found a place in Sharonville Ohio which is not to far from where i live that has all these parts in stock, they pretty much carry everything you need for your CUCV, I picked up a four pack of diode...

do all CUCV's drain their batteries?

what are the cold cranking amps on your batts? both of mine went bad and the guy at the autoparts store told me that the min you should have is 750, my front was a 750 and the rear was a 550, so when the front 1 died it sucked the life right out of the rear 1, also my aftermarket radio was...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Replaced both front calibers, driver side brake line, front brakes and rear brakes, rear universal joint, next is to get rid of the mufflers and just straight pipe it (baffles inside of them broke loose so it's annoying as ****) has anyone done this on their M1009

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Now if you don't want to get fuel all over the place just put a hose line on it, the kind you would use in a fish aquarium and put the other end into a old jar or something

My CUCV keeps blowing Starter Relay???

after reading all these post i found one thing that wasn't mentioned but i figured i would ask, could the ignition switch be shorting out, i'm not that good with electrical trouble shooting but i figured i throw that out there and see if it could be causing the problem

    Starter removal

you really shouldn't have a problem getting it out, we took the starter out of my M1009 without a prob, didn't need to do anything else, just took out the 2 main bolts, undid the wires, took off the rear support bracket, slid it towards the front a little and it dropped right down, now if your...

    What is this?? M1009

ditto, if you have both batts fully charged and it's still giving you probs then change it out, by looking at the pic i would say you really need to clean it up real well as the electrical contacts r getting coated it is going to give you problems, as that is being the original relay it is just...

    Fuel Injector Cleaner

The M1009s are the only one in the m1000 series to have a 27 gallon gas tank, the rest all have a 20 gallon, so for the M1009 it would be 9 ounces for 27 gallons, and 7 for the 20 gallons, or just a fuzz over 1 cup or fuzz under 1 cup depending on the size of gas tank

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

on my M1009 the terminal block was located on the passenger side as that was were the radio would have been mounted, and the wire's were ran from the front block under the vehicle and up threw the floor in the back just in front of the rear seat by the wall, remember "the shortest path is a...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Replaced 4 swollen glow plugs (not fun) 3 that quit working and 1 that shorted out and melted the wire, installed fire extinguisher up by 4 x 4 shifter, tinted the back cap windows, next will be to install a stereo if i can find a install kit for it (no one seems to have one)

    M1009 wont start

If you had turned the knob on top of the fuel filter and you ain't getting any fuel coming out while somebody is cranking it, then most likely your fuel pump is not working or you have air that has gotten in the line, i would start with the fuel pump, check all your wires that lead to it...

    M1009 wont start

have someone crank the engine while you open the fuel bleeder valve on top of the fuel filter 2 see if you are getting fuel to that point, if you are when was the last time the fuel filter has been changed, if you don't know i would recommend changing it.
