Good luck on finding unbroken "stand up" pieces. Like I said, it's been YEARS since I saw good ones. And I've probably had or looked at 500 M1009s. Of course, a lot of new ones may turn up at OKC tomorrow. Wierder things have happened. Obama was elected president.

Nope, they're a OEM military supplier only make current stuff. Could you solder up the existing hole and drill one in the right place?

I just received the new windshield frames. SS member price is $140 for BOTH sides. That includes gaskets, screws, handles, etc. .... pretty much everything but the glass (see pict.). When you consider the expense of packaging and freight and labor to refurbish them, you can't buy used...

The thing is that a lot of the used ones have the same problem... rust. Also, it costs a lot to pack and ship a complete windshield. That's why we found the source on new frames.

We have NEW windshield frames, complete, without the glass ON THE WAY TO US. They will be in next week. They will sell for $100 per side. They are coming from a gov't approved vendor and are the same ones we get from them like I have listed on ebay, except they don't have the glass. M35, 5Ton...

Oh, I would say if you get it for anything under $2500, you are getting a heck of a deal.

The Mack is comparable to the Cummins in power, maybe a little more powerful. It has a better reputation than any engine except maybe a couple of the Cats. It should fit with no problem. The frame, transmission, etc. are the same as the multifuel version.

Ahhh, so that's how it works. Thanks! Anybody used it and have pros and cons on the process? I have lots of small items that have surface rust where they have been banged around and had the paint chipped off. This seemed like it might be better than using the wire brush on the bench grinder.
