45 MPH wide open with about 3 ton in the back pulling a hill I can easily hit 1250, but I have turned up the fuel about 4 "flats" .... Empty I have a hard time hitting 1200 degrees. Cruising on flat ground 40 to 50 mph it runs about 700 to 800 degrees.
I've got the thermocouple in the rear...
I'd just like to share my experience with spray in liners. I had purchased a Jeep CJ7 some time ago and the prior owner had it Rhino lined. It does cut down on road noise greatly, However the prior owner also had a section of the rear floor replaced before spraying in the liner. Long story...
I installed a few thermocouples in dodge trucks and I've always started the hole with the engine off then started it up and kept drilling. Pack the bit and tap with grease, tape up the pipe some and don the SAFETY GLASSES.
The cast material drill filings are very fine and I've seen bigger...

Look at their web site, they do offer the gauge in 24volt red led display or green and blue display as well.

I used the BIG walker muffler(got it from Napa) on mine also... IT's WAY more quite than the dynomax race muffler.(I have a friend that has one on his truck). I have a "D" turbo which you can now clearly hear spool up when you on it... and spool down when your not. Steady driving nice and quite...
Awsome truck... I've been watching the things you've done and love it. I really like the look of the fake tank on the left side and was thinking of making a tool box out of one for mine. I was toying with keeping the long bed on it and dropping one axle, I don't know if that's been done yet or...
Just a thought, Why not use a relay and tie into the low air buzzer? It's surely loud enough and already there. If I heard that go off driving down the road It WOULD make me let off the pedal and likely to tap the brakes just to see..........
MIne has a 60 psi gauge and reads 30 cold 25 hot at idle 650 rpm and 30 hot at 1000 rpm, I've been wanting to check it with a manual gauge just to see if its right but I haven't had time.
I'd still drop the tank and have a look-see. You shouldn't have all that crud in there. Some diesel fuels have some problems of Algae building in the tanks Here'a a link talking about it ALGAE-X Diesel Fuel Treatments I don't endorce any product over anything else but they cover the cause pretty...
POR-15 is a super product. I'd recomend it to anyone. I have used it on countless Jeeps and Bronco projects over the years and It Can't be beat.
It is best to cover it with a top coat of paint, It doesn't like UV rays IE..sunlight.
MY CJ7 was Rhino lined inside before I got it and the prior...
Keep in mind that the unit is only rated 1100 inch pounds output = about 92 foot pounds
I'm goning to see how hard it is to turn the steering wheel while parked in the morning.
Yes, I agree that is has past it's prime with all the newer chemicals on the market it still has its uses.

I'm going to go the easy route and add a GM one wire 12 volt altenator and additional 12 volt battery, run everything thru a constant duty solenoid and wire that off the main switch. Same thing here tow-way radio, light bar, scanner, steamlight charger, portable radio charger, etc. ( I do HAVE...
It is fairly easy but time consuming. The one in the link I posted was done buy my friend. Yup you need to cut the cab carefully and widen the floor as the front of the cab is narrower then the rear. I'd have him post some photos but his visiting Afghanistan at the moment courteously of Uncle...

A close friend down the road from me has built several of them. Kinda cool, But really fun with the top off at a drive in movie. I still bad for the couple in car behind us, but I don't think they were there for the movie.
