Lucas additive
Also, use Lucas's gear lub additive in the diff 's, transmission and everything
else that goes round-and-round. Really quites down the running
noise, a lot.
Spare tire
Now you know way I will not replace my duals with singles.
I have four spares and always ready to go without a hassle;
to change though you have to have a place to keep flat until
it can be repaired. If no place to store just abandon it; you
still have three more.
Good luck.
Mats
Good idea to remove mats while you still have a floor.
I spray coated a heavy liner the same as I used in the
bed on my M36A2C. Works great and very easy to clean
even though I still used the removable mats I had just for
added protection and sound deadening.
Does anyone, know for certain, the species of wood (oak, pine, etc.) used for
the side racks? The TM's call it part number 2411-65 but
not a word on the species of wood required.
I need to replace several pieces to the original.
Thanks,
Orren Winjum
Mods for M36A2C
Since I drove my stock M36A2C all the way from MN to North Florida
after purchase I was pretty certain on just what was badly needed.
Air Ride seats ( 2 Bostroms)
Replaced most running gear fluids with Lucas for quitter running.
Installed front hub lockers
12 Volt service...
Fuel tests
Does anyone know for sure exactly what the test is looking for?
Is it red dye or non 100% diesel, or specific gravity? Or what?
Thanks for the comments.
Hi Kenneth,
Welcome to the best site for Military vehicles, etc.
Norway is my ancestral homeland in the Bergen area.
My dad's name is Kenneth, too.
Great people and country. If you ever get to USA look me up.
All the best,

Cargo cover wanted
Looking for a como 3 color cargo cover for a M36A2 (long wheel base) truck.
Also, need bows.
Please let me know who might have them if you don't.
Thanks,
Orren Winjum
I've been thinking of doing something similar with my M36A2. All it takes is money. I've contacted the Alaskan Camper company and they can make a camper that telescopes
to lower profile. They have done some that are on smaller trucks; check out web site.
Good luck,
Orren
Bjorn,
Do you know what, if any, numbering designation there might be
to distinguish the new redesigned Continental from the old?
I have a LDT-465-1D that I might need to replace.
Thanks,
Orren
Bell housing plug option.
Does anyone here know why you can't just leave the bellhousing plug
in all the time? The only reason I can see not leaving plug in is if you have bad seals and are getting a lot of leaking that may affect clutch.
All comments appreciated.
Thanks
LDT-465 replacement ?
You seem to be knowledgable about these M35 engines and I was
wondering if you know of a non LD type that could be easily used
to replace it.
I have the famous loose rod banging in my LDT-465 and rather
than fixing it I would like to upgrade it.
Thanks for your help...
Pinion Flange cover
I make a solid steel cover that fits on the pinion flange.
$85 for a pair or $50 each. Plus S & H. Includes bolts.
See attachment for picture.
Thanks,

Price posting policy
Ron:
I don't understand what the big deal is about price. All prices are
negotiable and sometimes meaningless if a trade is worked out.
Price often scares off on-the-fence buyers who otherwise would
negotiate. I think it would serve us all better if price posting was...
centifuge
I think you might want to look into using a centrifuge setup for large scale
oil separation from algae/water. Should be able to get a very low percentage
of water remaining in oil and no heating or chemicals involved.
If the algae oil is what I think it is it should work well by...
I'm designing something similar and larger. Don't know if flame pump will be able to
work right without an assist. If assist is needed a few pounds of air maintained in tank
should do it so high mounting would not be necessary.
Would recommend adding a check valve to fuel line if tank is...
