so i looked at it today. the axle is still sitting where its suppose to under the leafs, the frame were the steering box is bolted on is not cracked. i jacked up the front end and i dont notice any unusual play in the front wheels. could something in the actual steering box be broken, could it...

I went and did some snow wheeling yesterday in buffalo while away at school and I broke through the ice a few times dropping my front wheel a couple feet down. After the whole day of wheelin and getting stuck allot the steering wheel has been knocked about 45 degrees off center. Is this a common...

put on about 100 miles around bufffalo.
drive home 300 miles
take 2 day off roading adventure
drive back to school to finish semester, then home again so another 600...
as of water proofing this truck, i find it kind of a disaster waiting to happen. if you get anywhere past the bottom of the headlights the cab fills up on mine. and you dont want the fuse box getting wet so in and out asap.
1 quick tip. i might be the only one that made this mistake but just in-case... when checking the rear u joints be sure to put the transmission in neutral. even if you don't think your on a hill, any little bit of force being applied to the drive shaft will make any u joint play go away...
i was thinking no squeak. the belts gotta be fine. i was wrong. also i wasn't getting 14 volts when putting meter right to the alternator. i thought its gotta be the alternator. i was wrong. without the solid ground on on the battery it wont be pulling good voltage.... and im guessing it was...

brought truck to a alternator shop. the guy felt the pulley it was hot. very hot.
changed belts. tightened them up. (it was slipping)
tightened up loose ground on front battery.
everything is perfect now...
