    M923a1 air brake question

Your not replacing "pods", you will be replacing the rubber diaphrams ($5 +/- each) more than likely... However, you still could be losing your air from rusted housings, in which case you would/should be replacing the assemblies ($$$). To replace the #12 rubber diaphram in the steer axle...

    WARNING: Bad Torque Rod Ends

I would add that there is a reason why this rockwell style suspension has not been used for a very long time...(too little rubber with too much torsion...the Mack camelback and Henderickson have proven themselves much more reliable). Also I would submit that a 30 year old NOS bushing end no...

    M923a1 air brake question

I think that those chambers are 1216's meaning that on your maxi's (cans with 2 diaphrams) your service diaphram is a #12 and the emergency/parking side is a #16....the single cans on rear and steer axle are just #12 service diaphrams..pretty straight forward to change and just a few bucks...

    M923a1 air brake question

Normally, if your air system drops air quickly when stepping on the brake it means that you have a ruptured diaphram in one of your brake chambers (it could be a service relay valve, but not usually). Of course you have 10 chambers (service) on your truck to choose from. All vent into the...

    8.3 CTA Cummins won't start

Joe, # 1: If you do not have fuel on the return side of the injection pump, then you do not have fuel into the injection pump. Of course you know this already. I say this because if your F.S.O. solenoid is not throwing the shut-off lever far enough when energized, the fuel will not be loaded...

    8.3 CTA Cummins won't start

I am not sure how difficult it is on the 8.3, but if you have several pounds of consistant pressure from the mech trans pump to the ip inlet, next install a clear line between the two pumps to rule out air infiltration. Odds are your ip fuel pressure regulator may be stuck open (chunk of o-ring...

    M939 stuck motor

Steve, I would hate to see you throw good money after bad. Since you have already drained the oil, you could take another hour, drop the base pan and with a mag light look up at the bottom end and probably see where/what your problem is. regards, Bob

    Newb Oil question

Most engine oils smell more different than they really are... 15w-40 works just about anywhere anytime in the lower 48, there are only so many refineries and it seems very proprietary with respect to additives. Most of the time two good 900 amp batts will effectively crank an 855 above 32...

    M939 stuck motor

For about a thousand dollars, (you) can inframe your existing motor (crank and heads having a 75% chance of being ok and not requiring any work), it would be an adventure for you. My experience has been that you can always inframe cheaper than replace (wet liner advantage). regards, Bob

    818 center pin replacment

Could you post a picture or two of the housing and bracket? I haven't been into one for a while and a pick might jog my memory.

    M915A1 not fueling properly

To test for air in fuel, (slow/sluggish throttle response condition) put a clean fuel line from the PT pump inlet into a clean 5 gal fuel container of fuel, ensure that you have at least 5 gallons return space in tanks, run the engine, and before you run the aux. fuel source empty you have a...
