Hey guys, posting this here in the M35 section as I couldn't get the classified section to work properly for me....
Anyway, just updated the website with some new trucks / parts that are available for sale.
www.MILTRUCKS.com
Have a nice M275A2, a M35A2, and several deuce parts along with...
Thanks for the input Kenny. Just sent Wayne a message. According to Jeff, it doesn't look like John has any......
Decided to end up keeping the M48A2 for personal use. Acquiring a couple different types of trailers to work with it. One is the 348, I have one of the expandibles. I got...
Lance - appreciate the help! If you can grab one, I'll pay you whatever you can get it for + some $$ for your time and effort. Planning on restoring the trailer for personal use and original parts are always the best.
Thanks!
I've got one that I will be torching up this weekend. Shipping might be kinda high from Ohio though.....
Just let me know if you need it.
Eric. (aka Miltrucks)
I purchased this at a private auction, but it had to set for about 2 months before the owner had it cleaned out for me to move. During that time, somebody stole a part off of it that I think it going to be difficult to locate.
The rear of this trailer has 2 swing open doors. Supposed to be...
RE: Was on ebay
Thanks - I'll keep an eye out for them. Did a couple searches on both active and closed items and didn't turn them up. I'll keep watching as well.
Anyone else have any good suppliers for these?
Thanks,
Eric.
Does anybody have a good source for the trailer brake handles used on the newer M101 trailers? Picture is attached below.
Looking for NOS or very good - excellent condition take offs.
Somebody thought it would be a good idea to torch the internals out of these and I need to locate a...
RE: Transport Two Deuce Engines from Columbus OH to Western
I was probably one of the guys bidding against you :-) I bought 5 the last time around and 3 here on this last sale. I too am waiting for the EUC to clear before I pick mine up. Planning on building up one or two to...
Sure - feel free to Emal or PM for the details.
Have a guy that has a M46 chassis (the long wheel base one) - stripped down to the cab and chassis only. Fenders and front sheet metal gone. Non turbo multifuel is in parts, trans is believed good. Sprag Xfer still in red oxide paint - looks...
Thanks for the feedback guys. I had teh opportunity to pick up a rebuilt sprag case and thought about keeping it as a spare for the air shift.
Based on what was provided, I think I'll pass on it. Those were the details I was looking for!
Luckily, in working with all of my trucks, I have never really had any Xfer case problems so I haven't had one of these cases apart.
Can anyone explain if a sprag Xfer case can be converted over to an air shift case by swapping out some parts?
Off hand, I am guessing the front plate and the...
I'll vouch for the comany as well.
When I retored the Fast Attack Jeeps, I ended up with their M2 and the M60 (I think all they sell now is just the receiver).
They are not the cheapest ones out there, but excellent manufacture and looks - especially in the 1-3 feet range that you use for...
Ok -I'll jump in on this since my name is being dragged about :-) I had to build one of these as the LWB M48 2.5 ton tractors are near impossible to find, and the M275s just seemed too short.
The tractor we built up does very well. As Kenny mentioned, I opted for the 5 ton setup as it is...
Chuck - I have never been able to find a source here in Ohio. Found one place that said they could order it in for me but was extra $$$.
Best source I have found is Rapco out of Texas. If you find something more local - let me know.
As for amount, to do a vehicle like a M35, I normally...
Those XDY's look pretty good. I had a set of 12.5x20 XLs on the truck before, but they just didn't seem to have the grabbing power I wanted. Even with the Detroit in the rear, I couldn't grab enough with them. That is why I wen't with the wider more aggressive stance.
The truck was...
I have played around with a couple different mixtures (I have painted probably 15 military trucks / trailers over the past couple years).
What I found to work best is to add about 3/4" - 1|" of mineral spirits to each 1/2 gallon can of paint. On the gillespie gallons, I normally keep an empty...
Truck is painted with Gillespie Coatings 383 Green. I've had real good luck with this brand - thin down a little bit and it sprays on real well.
Fuel tank is mounted in the front of the maintenance bed. You can see some pictures of that in the album. Kept the military 50 gal and...
To answer a couple questions......
The actual intall of the single axle is pretty straight forward and easy - everything is pretty much bolt on once you get your measurements right. It's all the other stuff (airlines, wiring, rerouting fuel lines and all the extras you end up doing) that...
