    Voltage Issue With Head Lights

The pulsing of the gauge isn't the alternator, it's the glow plug controller. The glow plugs are pulsed every few seconds in order to help warm up the engine faster, but can't be run constantly or they would burn up. Some controllers do the pulse method, others use a constant lower voltage. It...

    Brake pedal/switch question

If you run out of adjustment, you can always just bend the rod to make it shorter

    Group 31 950 CCA issues

That may be true, but when 6 cells are receiving less voltage than needed to properly charge and the other 6 are receiving more voltage than needed to properly charge, then rotating the six does help. It's just the nature of charging batteries in series that the first one connected to positive...

    Object on humvee wheel

I've heard this said several times, but have never seen any evidence of it. I've also heard from Air Force load masters, and rail yard guys that they've never seen it used for that.

    Object on humvee wheel

Not in the -10 as far as I know, but in a different manual

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

When my pump failed, I bought a cheap 12V pump off amazon or fleabay. I just remember it was cheap, like under $20 for the pump. 3 years later still works every time I use it. Would probably burn up if I tried to run the whole tank of washer fluid through it at once, but a few seconds here and...

    Group 31 950 CCA issues

Typically it's the forward battery that overcharges and rear battery undercharges. First in series charges more than later in series. Plus, no two batteries are ever perfectly identical to begin with, so usual recommendation is either install some sort of battery balancer, or swap the battery...

    Unloaded at Banks

35 inch tires on 17 inch rims. Personally I just kind of want a set of the rims.

    The unbreakable tire bead.

airing down and seeing when it hits the run flats while on a flat surface is going to be a lower pressure than when you are driving over obstacles. If you are planning on driving over obstacles, then I would say check pressure while the tire is sitting on a sharp corner of something that causes...

    Humvee Trailer 10-15 Foot Length

Typically they were an ECU at the front, and generator mounted between the fenders, though some other variants do exist. I believe military rated these as 6k lb trailers when towed behind larger trucks, and 4200 if towed by the HMMWV. Until you get to the big trailer they rated for 12k, they...

    Humvee Trailer 10-15 Foot Length

The only one I know of for bumper pull would be the larger DRASH type trailer, once you strip all the generator and ECU components off of it.

The Rise and Fall of the Humvee?

When they start the article with "6.2l turbocharged engine" you know it isn't going to get any better.

    Injector Pump Return bubbles??

Either you still have a lot of air in the system, or somewhere before the lift pump there is a pinhole leak in a fuel line allowing air to get into it. Can't be after the lift pump as it's all positive pressure at that point (I say can't, but it's not completely impossible) That is what seems...

Oil Pressure drops when coming to a stop

The gauge is there mostly as reference. I've used 3 different senders and 2 different gauges, and every combination reads differently. Oil pump system is entirely mechanical, and usually either works or it doesn't. As long as the gauge reads pressure, and moves between low RPMs and high RPMs...

    M998 broken spring replacement?

the 700xxx serial number is more consistent with being an M1097R1 truck, as regular production HMMWVs are still under the 400xxx or so mark, and the M1097R1 trucks are 500XXX and up.

Anyone with experience with Hutchinson/H1 Alpha wheels

I don't know anything about them, but if the 4 studs that are longer are evenly spaced, then it would make sense that those 4 are for helping pull everything together, and the rest being shorter is so you don't have to spend so much time tightening all the nuts down on longer studs, especially...

    M1123 Low Power

Unless you have an air leak somewhere in the system, then there shouldn't be any way for the fuel to drain back into the tank.

    M998 broken spring replacement?

His is a 3 speed R1 truck, and has the cast mounts. The R1s don't have a UOC that I know of, and I didn't want to just assume for him that it was the same as the M1097A1 for those parts.

    M998 broken spring replacement?

I believe that you'd want the A2 progressive rate springs as replacements. You definitely don't want the M1114 springs unless you're using it as a shelter truck or something similar with a lot of weight all the time.

    M998 broken spring replacement?

Have you checked both the M998 manual as well as the M1114 manual, and made sure you had the newest versions? Also to add, it does seem that there are multiple springs that aren't in either manual series, due to both the H1 commercial market as well as kits that were made for the HMMWV by the...
