Did you use the coil spacers in the front as well? I remember over in the Armada springs thread a few people talked about installing a spacer as well for the proper ride height
Mine leaked, so I went to the local hydraulics shop and bought an industry standard fitting they had on the shelf, rather than the one that would have had to be special ordered for the HMMWV. Had to replace both sides of the fitting, but 3 years later no issues, and if something does happen I...
Before spending lots of money, I'd put a cheap incandescent bulb back into it and see what happens. It staying lit says it's getting power through the system, but not enough load to activate the flasher, or so it seems to me.
edit: when I tried replacing all my bulbs with LED, turn signals...
Serpentine belt runs on the outside of that pulley, not like the V belts that go to the inside, so no disconnect required.
The disconnect is one of those upgrades that came after it was no longer needed. The V belt trucks didn't come with one originally, and you had to unthread the hydraulic...
The regulators can fail over time, causing charging issues that come and go. For a month or so before I replaced mine, it would work, then it wouldn't, and I'd occasionally have to pull over, shut off the truck, and tap on the outside of the regulator with a small chink of metal until it would...
By bulb in the 3 way switch, did you mean in the turn signal unit itself? If so, some of the flasher units won't work properly if all the bulbs are LED and you also put an LED in the turn signal lever assembly. Something to do with not enough load for the flasher unit, or the voltage polarity...
I think I remember hearing one of the experts in the past saying it's a common thing, and not really much you can do about it. I know my brakes had a lot of shudder for a long time, but I either got used to it, or just haven't noticed it much lately.
Aired down on pavement will give softer ride, but at expense of longevity and fuel consumption, and makes it harder to steer at low speeds, since the larger tire contact area increases friction.
As with Tobash, I would never air down tires on pavement in order to soften the ride. My tires are...
Just to be clear though, for everything I linked in the above 2 posts
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CONDITION THESE COME IN, WHETHER THEY HAVE PINS, STRAIN RELIEF, OR EVEN THE INSERT IN THEM.
Of course, the same thing happens for the Amphenol brand as well. Different modifications added to the end change it a little as well.
Looks like they have several in stock and ready to ship. I don't think you want the version with "W" at the end as that changes the clocking position of the...
The amphenol brand connector I gave the part number to is available individually.
I don't know if it comes as a complete assembly or not, as the Amphenol brand you have to buy the components separately and assemble yourself (which is why I have so many part numbers listed in the first post in...
I bought liquid when doing mine.
It does seem to dry out a little faster than paste does, but it's easier to get into places like the bead surface when prying on stuff, as it will flow down into the gap while you are prying, and paste doesn't usually flow like that.
I can't really give...
Would you trust going out into a combat situation with an engine worked on by a teenager that never even looked under the hood of a car before they joined up 6 months previously?
Doing a job like that right can sometimes take almost as long as just yanking out the engine and shoving in a new...
Supposedly there are some for heavy equipment that will work and not burn everything up, but you won't find them labeled for HMMWV use.
I'm sure at some point someone linked one that would work to a thread on here in the past, but I didn't pay attention. Way too many chinese made switches on...
it's kind of important.
I've heard of more than one tire that managed to get inflated, but didn't want to deflate because of rubber blocking the valve stem area. Definitely not a common issue, but also preventable.
