I think I might have a 30/50 turret set up on my V, thoughts

M2 and M85 both used solenoid. I sold the last .50 feed can I had but still have 7.62 and .50 chutes. Looks like you have the mounts in place as well as spent casing system.

thinking I have a bad master cylinder now.....

Sounds like piston sticking. Cheap enough to replace. Swap it out and be done with it.

Anybody know of BTR series vehicles for sale state side??

All of this has been covered many times on many threads. Suffice to say, the biggest problem of owning a BTR in the US is it's width. It is oversized and you will not get it licensed for road use; the main fun of wheeled armor. If that is not an issue, the check out Augdog's. It has a lot of...

M16 Half Track Purchase, Need Advice

You are correct about duty. No customs duty on vintage vehicles. Bring it into Baltimore. There is a RORO twice a month from Portsmouth. You need and approved ATF Form 6, but no fees for that.

    gun truck 100mph

Given the roads of the ETO, 35mph is pretty much the max that could possibly be used. 100mph would be totally useless, even absurd.

    Saracen - British 6 wheel

You need to invest in a manual before seriously considering one of these. Their complexity cannot be overstated. And re-engineering is a pipe dream.

Tips On Importing Armor and other vehicles from Overseas...

You can do the ATF Form 6 yourself. It's free and there is no import license required for personal use.

Working on a "Major" Brake Adjustment

We created a dedicated wrench by grinding a shallow (narrow) box end wrench. Works great.

    form 6 questions

Bottom line is this: IF you attempt to bring in anything gun-related, and IF Customs inspects the shipment and finds it, you WILL get a visit from the ATF. Smoke dischargers are nothing but tubes and are easily replicated here. You can mess with having them demilled to ATF specs, but its far...

    form 6 questions

I would wait on a specific vehicle especially since it is not going to be leaving right away. As for a machine gun, forget it entirely. You cannot import a deactivated gun or even the barrel. And a dummy is not worth the potential hazard, especially on a Ferret with an m1918 where there are tons...

Travails of moving Armor #2... Leopard 1 and Swiss Pz61 are home! WARNING LONG!

A tarp flapping in the wind at 70+mph will beat the crap out of anything. Paint on a tank is not anything special.

    Mortar investments?

For first time armor, you just can't beat a Ferret. Size, parts, driving, cost, availability, its a great place to start. While the turret of the 2/3 it cool and the most plentiful, consider a 1/2. Room for three, and you can mount a .50. Before buying, get a User's Manual and study up. They are...

    Tank, M1A2 / M1A2SEP Abrams NSN: 2350-01-328-5964

This is the same problem as with submarines. If we give up the ability to built, it is very time-consuming, difficult, and expensive to ever get it back.
