How do you people find or rather get your hands on stuff like that? I know people in my local fire dept, and when the stuff goes it just disapears one day and hide nor hair is seen or heard of the equipment again. Maybe I know the wrong people.
We'll see. I'm thinking of going with a very un-conventional setup of 9.00 x 16 NDT's. I forgot how cool looking they were until I got my M416 trailer. True they are bias plys with tubes, but I think thetrade off might be worth it. Plus they are @ 35 inches tall and fit on the stoock rims...
Eventually I may go for the crossover steering, but for now this will do. I have the steering box brace waiting to go in. Need to order the sway bar kit so I can throw that back in. Hoping for a decent set of HMMWV 37's and beadlocks to fill up the wheel wells. May have to wait for a show to...
Well, I finally broke down and lifted my 86 M1008. I always wanted a lifted pickup but debated it for practicality reasons. I came to the decision that I should do it, and if I hate it, I can always take it out and sell it. I used 4 inch Tuff Country HD springs up front. 3 inch blocks in...
Does anyone have a good picture of the original tail lights for a late 60's (ideally a 1967) M416 trailer? The lights were missing on mine and I have seen most with the later composite lights. I was told they should be the same as the M151's tail lights but have seen them with several different...
I'm thinking on that, we'll see. Seems alot of Jeep and Landcruiser guys use these and the Canadian version trailers. Anyone have any idea where I can find military tail lights and mounting brakets for thetrailer? I'm not having much luck finding any. I'm already in the trailer section with...
Yep American racing rims on the 55. I have a set of Kidney bean mags for the truck to, but the rubbed with the 33's on them. Now that the truck has a 4 inch lift as of monday it's no longer a issue. Are there any suppliers that have the lights or is that more of a swap meet kinda deal...
Well I grabbed the M416 I found. It's in good shape and the price was right. It needs a few things but they all do. The Quad still fits in the bed of the truck. So I may just shift the stuff from the truck bed to the trailer and keep the ATV in there during travel.
well, I saved it. Here are a few photos of the M416 I just grabbed from the salvage yard. Needs some tailights, tail panel, and a data plate if anyone has one. But it's in suprisingly good/solid shape. No obvious rot, bed and floor are pretty straight. Enjoy
Whats the largest military trailer that can safely/reasonably be towed behind a M1008. I found a M416 trailer that's cheap that I might pick up, but I was a bit disapointed that its too small to fit a ATV in. Are there any larger trailers that can be used with a M1008? Or are you limited to...
I tried searching for JeePanels, but it appears that the site has been deleted. Does anyone have new contact info for them? are they still around? Does $350 sound fair for the trailer? Obviously without seeing it appraising it is hard, but for a 85-90% complete rolling tailer with little or...
I found a 416 trailer by me at a junk yard in pretty decent shape. The only things missing are the data plate, the tail lights, and someone cut the tailgate/rear wall out. I know only the canadian versions of these trailer had tailgate but it was the only way I can think to describe it...
RE: pattern
all eight lug bolt patterns are the same between Chevy, Dodge and Ford. Only recently @ 2000 or so did ford switch over to a metric bolt pattern. So as long as the wheels are not of a newer ford they will fit. The only thing that changes is width and backspacing between...
Check the throttle shaft seals on the IP as it will drain down the intake valley and come right down the back of the engine right in the area you are talking about.
RE: Re: RE: Re: M998 Hmmwv tach installed.
The tires, must make the difference. If I could do 60 at 2800 in my M1008 I'd be very happy. but I guess even with the gear reduction units the 36/37 inch tires make a big difference. That is one of the reasons I looking for some for the M1008. For...
RE: Re: RE: Re: M998 Hmmwv tach installed.
what engine do you have in your HMMWV that has a 3600rpm redline? 6.2L, 6.5L NA or 6.5L turbo? just curious. as I have the 6.2L in my m1008 and was wondering what the safe rpm limit was for them. I usaually dont go over 2700 rpms which lets me do...
