Cadillac Valve & TDM Keeps Burning Out

only reasons I could see for them to burn up/fail like that is if there is a wiring issue somewhere, or if you're buying cheap chinese made crap. What voltage are you seeing on the wires going into the TDM? I find it unlikely but any chance you damaged any wires when you were installing the...

Rubber coating for parts near battery?

The issues that people are trying to fix on 30 year old trucks with a supplemental grounding harness is bad connections/corrosion on the existing ground points. The added harness does help if you have electrical issues, but about the same amount that going through and properly cleaning the...

Trouble connecting the thermostatic fan switch

This thread has a large image of the wiring diagram. It might be easier to follow the wiring in it than the regular manual. It's labeled as the ambulance, but engine wiring should all be the same...

To get my HMMWV (M1097A2) in good running order... need help.

Another option is the NO.CO 2 bank chargers. They are specifically designed that they can charge 2 12V batteries whether they are independent or if they are wired in series. I have the gen5x2 in my truck, as do several others, and it works great. https://no.co/gen5x2

    Surge protector

I know we ran our laptops, projectors, server racks, and a lot of other equipment on the same generators that were providing the aircon and heat to the command tent. MEP 802's and MEP 804 were what we had until we got the DRASH equipment in my unit. As far as I know not a single item failed...

    Surge protector

I very rarely see surge protectors used in conjunction with generators in civilian applications. I know some of the DRASH/HDT power distribution boxes have them built in, but that's all I've seen specific to a generator use. I have seen a few in homes, but primarily for the utility source...

PETLAS Has anyone tried these tires?

Not sure about our size, but the rest of the Enforcer family of tires is manufactured in U.S.A. of foreign and domestic components. I'd imagine with it being a military contract that our sizes are also domestically produced.

    Rear Half-Shaft Loose

it's very common for the halfshaft retaining bolts to be loose or missing coming from surplus. It's one of the first things that should be checked for that very reason. I know my truck they were all there and snug, but definitely not properly tightened. I don't know if you do youtube at all...

Need parts and manual help with military 12k 2 post lift

I found that Gemini Lifts has model numbers for 2 post lifts that are GPO-10A and GPO-9A, so the GPO-12 does match their model numbering system. Other than that though I'm not any help. EDIT: found a picture on Ironplanet of a GP10A that has the model/serial sticker, and while it's pretty...

PETLAS Has anyone tried these tires?

I should have said it as "non-military wheels and tires" not just tires for the amount of weight reduced. Just the tires themselves will only be a few pounds difference, but likely to be more round.

PETLAS Has anyone tried these tires?

There is going to be a very noticeable difference between military and non military, simply due to the amount of weight involved. You lose about 1/3 to 1/2 of the weight by going non-military tires, and unsprung weight makes a huge difference in ride quality. The military doesn't care about...

PETLAS Has anyone tried these tires?

When I got my Baja tires from them, they gave me a call to give me options for either to my house or to a freight dock. The dock was an hour away, but about $200 cheaper. I think it was about $300 for the freight for 4 tires to the dock.

PETLAS Has anyone tried these tires?

I don't know about "brand new" but Feltz has the Enforcers 2020+ date code 100% tread for $350 each. With freight that would put you in the same price range. https://feltztire.com/product/37x1250r165lt-gy-enforcer-mt-hmmwv-tires-10-ply-nos/

At least they aren't made in China...

    M1152A1 fuel check valves

And if the grease isn't sticky enough, you can also put it in the freezer to thicken it up some more to help the rod stay in place.

What did you do to your trailer today.

Looks like the M101A3 to me.

How do you move your generator(s)?

For just rolling them around the shop a pallet jack should be more than enough. Worst case if the pallet jack doesn't fit into the gen frame properly, you put the generator onto a pallet and bolt or strap it so it stays.

    What trailer is this?

I don't know of any military trailer that will fit your requirements that well. A lot of that is due to weight. The military has plenty of people to drive vehicles, and the equipment that needs transported tends to be on vehicles/trailers that are massively overbuilt and overweight for the...

    Steelsoldiers’ BIG M1152A1 HMMWV Project!!

I can see how that would make it worse. For mine it was because the early style rear support bracket going to the exhaust stud kept breaking off the exhaust stud due to the manifold not being flat compared to the block, and thus putting uneven stress on the stud. Add to that the 200A unit and...

    Steelsoldiers’ BIG M1152A1 HMMWV Project!!

I think the loose PS/Gen bracket bolts is all trucks with the serpentine belt system, not just the ECV, as that was also an issue with my M1123 when I got it.
