Trying to replace the heater duct hose that goes over to the drivers leg area. The one behind the doghouse is good.
Thinking it's torn or damaged. Very little air flow to the drivers side. Passengers side is good. Searched the TM's but did not see anything about replacement of the drivers side...
FINALLY got the fan clutch fixed....what misery. I've had the three radiator stack off and on FOUR times...... Antifreeze, engine oil, ATF..
Bought a rebuilt fan clutch....it leaked...:mad:.....
Sent it back for a refund and bought a new one from KASCAR and WOW.... It works and no leaks...

Is it your understanding that the lines to the fan clutch are NOT prefilled with fluid prior to installation? Is normal operation to hook up the lines to the clutch, then fluid from the Cadillac valve compresses the air and operates the fan clutch.... Instead if actually...
Commo.... Question for you. I will be putting on a new fan clutch. Before I bolt it in place do I need to pre fill the nose cup on the clutch and the lines?? Thanks.
I bought one if those. After the misery of getting it on the truck the damn thing leaks..... Now I have to remove it and send it back before the seller will send another one.... Not happy.
I've looked without a lot of success. Recommendations on where to get a fan clutch rebuild kit from? Trying to avoid the $500.00 for a new one. Mines leaking fluid. Thanks.
I just replaced the fan clutch on my M998. No leaks whatsoever before...... After the fan clutch install I have a unknown Drip that appears to be Dripping down onto the six o'clock position on the bottom of the fan shroud...below the fan clutch shaft. I guess somehow the seal on the shaft got...
Put a new fan clutch in after the new Cadillac valve, TDM and thermo switch didn't fix it..... Of course when placing the radiator back in place it slipped and punctured a cooling tube (#*!$#&*).... Got that repaired and the fan works like it should. Not a fun adventure..
