    Fan Solenoid replacement

I can't swear what was in there before but I have added some power steering fluid to it. Whatever I can gravity drain out I'll replace with ATF.

    Fan Solenoid replacement

I'll drain out as much as I can when I put the new fan clutch on the truck.... since I've replaced every other related part. Hopefully, it's not so stuck I can't get the bolt holes to line up... That would suck after taking the three cooling stacks off.

    Fan Solenoid replacement

Are we saying that we don't use power steering fluid in the power steering reservoir, but use ATF fluid....or is power steering fluid the same as ATF?

    Fan Solenoid replacement

OK another question.... Is there suppose to be power steering fluid in the hose that goes from the Cadillac valve to the fan clutch??? Just checking.

    Fan Solenoid replacement

I'm in the same boat... Replaced all the ancillary parts. Fan still stuck. Sprayed it and been hitting the metal ring. If it doesn't brake loose I guess it cant be removed because I doubt the holes are lined up to remove the bolts......

Installed my four new camo doors and blended the pattern onto the bodywork. Now I can see out of the windows. Finished changing the gear oil in the front hubs.

    Fan Solenoid replacement

Put in the Cadillac valve, Time Delay Module and Thermo Switch.... Still runs all the time... Going to use Break Free and a hammer to "tap" on the metal fan collar...maybe it will free up.

    No Brake lights.....

Problem solved..... Never would have guessed it... Make sure the gang plug on the turn signal mechanism is screwed all the way in..........

    No Brake lights.....

All lights work fine except for the brake lights..... New brake light assembly housings. Dielectric grease on connections Brake switch has continuity when depressed, off when released I disconnected the two #75 wires from the brake switch and jumped them thinking that would be a direct...

    Fan Solenoid replacement

Yeah, the TDM can also be bad..... I have a "bad" habit of replacing moderately priced parts hoping it fixes the problem.... In the end it will probably be a stuck clutch on the fan hub.... That will be my last resort.

    Fan Solenoid replacement

One post I read included repeated shots of PB Blaster and tapping on the metal clutch hub.... It finally unstuck itself....

    Fan Solenoid replacement

That's where I am now.... New Cadillac valve, TDM and temperature switch..... fan stays engaged.... Obviously the fan clutch is stuck....

    Fan Solenoid replacement

Going to replace the Cadillac valve on my M998. Looks pretty straightforward. I assume I'll lose power steering fluid. After it's in I'll add fluid and turn the wheels back and forth to get a correct level. Does this process fill the Cadillac valve so it operates ok? Thanks.
